Hello all, got NOA2 approval and am preparing the documents, question about I-864EZ form 16 question:

16. Your household size

a. yourself and the person you are sponsoring on this form - 2

b. your spouse-?

What should be filled for b? 0 or leave it blank as spouse was already counted in a.?

You should write 0 in it. Put 0 in all the items that are not applicable.

Thanks. I see in your timeline that you paid AOD and IV, is the the bar code same for the both items? I'm asking because when I get to this stage I want to send both packages at once once AOS has been paid and not wait for IV invoice. Also, looks like your process is moving very fast, is it expedited or something?

No it's not expedited. You can send both the packages after paying AOS fees. You have to take two print outs of AOS cover sheet. The barcode is same for both aos and iv.

My case was pending at NVC for four months because I was under F2A. You can see that in my signature. Recently it got upgraded to CR1. Maybe that is the reason the IV fee invoice was available quickly for my case. But that is just an assumption. There is a chance that the invoices may open quickly for other cases also.

I've seen other examples in Saylin's spreadsheet recently who have had IV invoiced either the same day as AOS or within a week or so. Maybe they're getting faster at that in general.

Good morning everyone.

If you send in documents to the NVC via email will you receive some kind of confirmation and if so, what is the timeframe from email to receiving this confirmation. We just sent in the I-864 required documents and the civil documents.

Thanks.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

At least it is only a delay in the correspondence and not in the scan date! I know that is not comforting during the long wait to find that out though. Good luck and pray for no checklists!

I think you're mistaken. IV bill is never invoiced at the same time as the AOS invoice, since the IV bill is dependent on the DS-261 being submitted and added to the case file.

The only time where an IV bill will be invoiced right away is when the case has a lawyer attached, in which they're automatically selected as agent, thus by-passing the DS-261.

Be careful about that ;)

Yes absolutely true. :)

My IV was invoiced 6 days after filling DS261. I didn't expect to be able to pay this quick but am happy. :)

Maybe NVC is invoicing IV quickly than earlier, even without a lawyer? (Just comparing the cases without a lawyer.)
