Hey!

I have finally completed everything NVC asked me,

Now I have a question #1 - how do you find out when they scanned doc pack in the system? Does it appear anywhere in CEAC or do they send you an email?

I have sent papers last week and envelope was delivered this Tuesday 01/20, how long does it take them to scan papers?

Question #2 When do they send an email stating that you have to wait 60 days while they review everything?

My NVC doc/form/fee submitting went fast. Case # assigned 01/09, DS-261 completed 01/09, AOS invoiced and paid 01/13, called 01/16 and was told to send already all paperwork (even before IV fee paid), sent same day. IV invoice on 01/20, updated to paid 01/21, DS-260 completed 01/22. It took me 13 days to do everything from case number assignment date - by my standards NVC works quite fast, after mediocre USCIS service.

I will update my timeline later, when I will find out how :-)

Just tell me plz how fast they scan docs and when after that they send email with 60 day wait time, I want to start counting already :-)

1- It won't appear on ceac, they'll send an email that they have received "your documents" from you

2- In my case, they received it on the 12th, and they sent me an email on the 15th stating that they received my docs on the 12th, and I should wait at least 60 days

Yes, put them together, or you'll just confuse NVC and probably get a checklist for missing papers. Put one cover letter, all your papers, then all the joint sponsor's papers.

Doesn't matter if you qualify to sponsor or not, you still need to prove domicile, whether it's that you've maintained US domicile the entire time or the intent to re-establish it. As I mentioned, I have an extensive list on the wiki, as well as a letter to use. I'm not sure how strict they are at the consulate/embassy you're going through, but in Canada, it is the one thing they put a BIG focus on. Many people get put into AP at Montreal for not showing enough proof of domicile.

Okay I found a good number of things from your (incredibly helpful) form letter and will include them, but in Part 4 Question 5, do I put Brazil or USA as my country of Domicile?

2014 is finished so I was wondering how does the embassy look at current annual income expected for 2014? my last paystub from 2014 is the last paystub for my proof of employment. are they going to look at that to make sure the numbers match? reason asking is because I worked for a temp agency for 20 days of January and got hire on January 22 at the job im at now which is the last 6 months paystubs I am using, so I am including those 20 days of income in my current annual income or do I just use the number on my last paystub year to date? Im probably thinking to much into this but for 2014 I made whats on my year to date paystub and also what I made from the temp agency ..

Keep in mind, the question on current annual income isn't based on 2014 income. It's based on how much you're earning right NOW, with just your current job(s); the year doesn't come into play. Current annual income is based on an employment letter and any recent pay stubs. If you're salary, put your current salary amount. If you're paid by the hour, calculate your current annual income (wage x hours worked per week x weeks worked a year [typically 52]).

Unless your interview is after April 15th (in which 2014 taxes will be required), they won't be looking at 2014 income (unless you file your taxes ahead of time). They'll just see your 2011, 2012, and 2013 income from past tax year information, and then your current income, based on a recent employment letter and/or recent pay stubs.

Confusion regarding I864 form question 12. (Military service question.) So, I understand the sponsor petitioner has to reply with a yes or no.

What about the joint sponsor? Should he leave both the blanks unchecked? Or should he check no as our joint sponsor is not in military?

Anybody help please.
I want to send the package today.

I wouldn't leave the question blank under any circumstance. I think the question is concerning the sponsor so if he is the joint sponsor then it is regarding him.

I would check no if he isn't in the military.

You would put USA as you're planning on moving back to the US and will be submitting proof of your intent to re-establish.

Whatever matches to your support (transcripts or tax return). On my transcripts it said $xx,xxx.00 so I included cents so it matched identically.

I would check no if he isn't in the military.

The filing instructions for i864 regarding part 4 item number 12 says "this provision does not apply to joint or substitute sponsor." That's why am confused.

Saylin need your help in this please.

And will do. I don't answer to PMs (I take a week at a minimum now) as I've mentioned in the first post, so please, refrain from messaging me (to you and everyone else), especially if you want an answer right away, cause you're not gonna get it there

Hi all. After reviewing all the documents I sent yesterday to NVC I realized I made a silly mistake on I-864EZ and put the wrong DOB for my husband (horrible wife I know :crying: ). I know I can resend this before I get a checklist, but do I just send in the I-864EZ and maybe a cover letter explaining?

I know some others have caught their mistakes early. Advice please? Thanks in advance!

Just send a new completed I-864EZ form along with a cover letter. That's enough...No need to send entire AOS package
