Hi Saylin,

Select 1 if your case has been sent from USCIS and you have not received any correspondence.

Select 2 if you have a NVC case number and need an update. ( Not the exact words)

You have to listen to allot of talk before you can select 2 ( so be patient your call is important) :clock:

Yes same story. I am going to call tonight when I get off work and I will update you if nothing resolves itself before then!!

I filled out the DS-261 Jan 15th, and got the NVC welcome email Jan 16th. I'm able to login to the fees payment portal but I just don't have either invoice available to pay. These "systems" they have seem to only work half the time at best haha! :sleepy:

Thanks for replying. Am I supposed to get any barcoded sheet via email after filling DS261? I just saw someone posted on FB page that they got one. I was not aware of that!!

Hi Saylin,

You have to listen to allot of talk before you can select 2 ( so be patient your call is important) :clock:

Confirming this. As I recall there were also a couple more options mentioned after 2 and 3, but can't remember exactly what they were (I think 4 was for non-immigrant visas - not relevant to members of this forum anyway).

I was able to skip the explanation of the first option by pressing 2. However, you then have to listen to a lengthy explanation of what information they require to be able to discuss your case for immigrant visas (USCIS receipt # or NVC case #, petitioner's name, beneficiary's name, beneficiary's date of birth) and nonimmigrant visas. This message is relayed in English, then Spanish, then the exact same message in English and Spanish AGAIN. Unfortunately no amount of hammering button 2 was able to skip these messages. You then have the option to select 2 or 3, at which time you hear the message about what information is required a third time, thankfully only in the language you selected this time. Then you finally get into the hold queue.

In short, expect to spend quite some time (4 or 5 minutes) listening to unskippable messages before you actually go on hold. Not sure I consider that an improvement. On the upside, I only waited about 15 mins on hold, although I'm not sure if that was to do with better routing of calls, or just the time of day I called (first thing at 7am when the phones opened).
