 Well I made it to California :) We were married on January 26th and its now time to think about AOS. I printed out all the forms and I must say I'm completly confused. I'm in San Diego so do I send my AOS papers to Chicago or file with my nearest Service Center?? I made a slight goof upon arrival. Neither my husband (its weird saying that but in a good way lol) nor I knew I was supposed to file for my SSN two weeks after arriving. I just filed this week! So now this means I have to go back again and put my name change on it when we get our marriage certificate. We married in the O.C. and can't send for that until next week. My visa is up on March 2nd so I'm just a wee bit worried here. Can I send for AOS using the SSN with just my maiden name on it?? It was so nice to enjoy the calm without the stress of paperwork for awhile  I'm getting nervous all over again because now the process seems even harder and more confusing. It's all worth it though to finally be with my sweetie everyday!

So any help I can get would be appreciated :) Hope everyone else's cases are going well!

Sarah

P.S If I put this in the wrong spot one of the mods can move it. I wasn't sure what to do!

also you have satisfied the condition of your visa by marrying within the 90 days so you can take a bit of time to get your papers together to file. You do not need to file within the 90 day period.

Send them to Chicago, read the AOS guides and you should be fine. Also, you don't have to file two weeks after, that's just a general guideline given of how to long to wait to apply to allow enough time for the SAVE system to have been updated. Unfortunately for us we waited about 4-5 weeks after he got here and the SAVE system still wasn't updated, so who knows!
