Hello vjers

I got visa just three months before my 2nd marriage anniversary. I have read somewhere that poe after 2nd anniversary gives you 10 years gc. I it worth if I wait three months for poe.

06 January 2018: Biometric Notice

22 January 2018: Biometric appointment

Yes, if you enter after your second marriage anniversary you get a 10-yr green card and skip the ROC process. You just need to make sure to bring a marriage certificate with you when traveling and point out to the officer processing you at POE to make appropriate IR classification in the computer system and in your passport.

If green card still comes with 2-yr length only, send it back with a copy of marriage certificate and copy of your passport stamp - no fee involved (I-90).

Is it worth it is a choice you have to make for your situation. Everyone is different.. When was your medical? Do you have an extra 3 months? When does your Visa expire?

My medical was on Dec 8, 14, and visa expires jun 8, 15. I still have over 5 months visa time. Secondly my wife is with me so I'm not in a rush. I just wanted to make sure that if I wait these three month it won't be waisted and i will get some benefits I.e 10 years gc, save money and Hussel required for Roc.

You're good to wait until after your 2nd wedding anniversary. :thumbs:

As long as you enter the US before visa expiry, no issues.
