Procedural info on delaying with a very delayed EAD:

After a national hotline service request and 2 letters to VAWA unit (second with a copy of my driver's license and a copy of the first letter), I have had an Infopass today.

The first line employee immediately noticed the C31 classification on my NOA and said she doesn't know anything about our sort of cases. I asked her if she could inquire with somebody who did.

After a little to and fro, a second lady came out and said she would create an expedited SMRT request, to which they are required to respond by 7/5/2015. If they do not, I can get another Infopass and they can call the IO who received the request directly to inquire about the hold up.

anxious did you apply for work permit using category C 31? It means you filed to get EAD AFTER your VAWA is approved.

If you have AOS pending the category is C 9, if you do not have AOS pending then you cannot get EAD until your VAWA is approved.

Oh my goodness! Now it makes sense! Is there any way to fix this now?

Anxious you can call the Customer service and ask them to send an internal request to fix it, but there is no guarantee they will fix it. If the service realizes is regarding a VAWA case then they will tell you to mail them. You can try tho, but It's advised to file a new I-765 with the right eligibility C 9 category.

Will it not going to get confusing with all the service requests flying around, my letters to expedite this existing application and now to add another EAD application into the mix?

Do you think just writing to VAWA Unit to ask to correct the classification could help?

I'm due to remove conditions on Jan 2015. My story start sometime after my wife petitioned for green card. She became controlling, very disrespectful in the house. Anger outburst. If anything doesn't go her way she would tell me she will cancel my green card in a minute and have me deported. We had joint bank accounts did overdrafts for more than 1000 dollors. Summer last year had her friends stay in my house, they would say something and laugh hysterically, addressed me as African. -most of time i would not come home due to treatment at home. When i make african food, put in fringe, she trashed it and tell me that a dog foods. I learned she started doing escorts by her online posting. That when i move out and i could not handle it anymore. She been very threatening, having people call me as immigration agent, and also sending me message that she will rest when i get deported. Also telling me that her uncles will come to my place. I have seen therapist and have all the other printouts for the escorts posting advertising herself on the web, and all deportation text msg and voicemails from ladies pretending to be immigration agent. My questions to Sandra, do i have a abuse case.
