OHH MAN I SEE, SO WAS UR INTERVIEW ALREADY SCHEDULE BUT IN UR ATTORNEYS STATE? so how long have u been waiting now ? I hope its not gonna take that long anymore, because they made the mistake. I hope u will hear from the soon.

and also if the interview was at ur attorneys office wasn't there the option for u to just attend it over there istant of rescheduling and waiting again?

Anxious,

It will not look dodgy if you used the psychologist who did not treat you. The evaluation takes 2-5 hours at most. If the psychologist takes more than that, the evaluation is considered as partial. Because, spending more than 5 hours with the patient starts to develope some certain degree of personal relationship, or compassion.

USCIS may have found the evaluation as biased because the evaluator is your therapist.

I guess its all about the Law, Apparently, if I had gone to the appt in my atty's state, I would have been seen, but told, they do not have juristiction over my case, they would have forwarded my case to my local office. That would have been a waste of cash i do not have, so i avoided that one.

I understand your impatience and frustration, Sandra. My only explanation is that this is not the sort of assessment she is accustomed to doing. An ADHD or autistic spectrum child is another matter.

Do you advise that I provide evidence of me having seen my current therapist for close to a year, but obtain what they appear to call an "immigration evaluation" elsewhere?

I am really concerned that may be found suspicious.

I want to add my 2 cents if you don't mind, my major was psychology (I am not practicing)

As a lay person I can say the doc statement should be like : Mr Anxious exhibits PTSD on my

tests blank blank during sessions.

Questions about his ???? and answers were in line of scales??? and extensive research done

by /???? ...Just quotes from your coversations bears no merits on your condition that would

help in proving validity.

I have decided on such meds for the patient & follow-up to address etc....Just saying

Jawaree, that is essentially what she wrote and believes to be the standard of the professional practice, but those quotes, as Sandra explained on this forum is EXACTLY what the IO wants. I am myself confused how the standards can be so conflicting.

Leilabird, that puts a completely different spin on the matter! Do you mind telling me how you learned about them discounting a long-standing therapeutic relationship? One would have thought such a therapist would have a better insight into the case and would have seen the progress of the client's mental states.

I will call around next week to see who may be familiar with those "immigration evaluations" as they call them here in Miami, and would not charge an arm and a leg for it.

Another anxious1, you might not want to go looking for an 'immigration evaluatution' therapist, cos you will be shelling out big bucks. This process is not just about the evaluation, the IO looks at the entire case (everything you submitted) before making a decision.

Sandra says the evaluation wasn't the best, you must now go online looking for a therapist that specializes in DV, someone who truly knows and has handled these types of cases. DO NOT mention anything about immigration until you have found out their experience in this field.

I found that when i was looking for a therapist for my case, the moment you mention Immigration, they either say NO or their fees will be very high.

Do your research well, you need a therapist that has a heart, that understands they need to tell your story in a professional manner, a way IO will understand.

No "she said that".. more in the lines of what she noticed and how she interprets what happened to you and what impact the situation you where in has had on your life etc. To be honest a 5-10 pages will do, if it is well written.. Emphasis on "well written"

Goodluck and stay strong.. I hope you find someone asap.

Also, look thru the old vawa parts 3-5..Sandra has some info on what a good phys eva should contain if that helps too..

Mamaof3, thank you for your input. You got a point about price tags. The attorney who was so negligent with my initial I-360 application did suggest somebody who would charge $5,000!!!!!!!!!!! When I couldn't afford to sleep anywhere but at the shelter.

AND the attorney wouldn't vouch for the quality of evaluation either. Heck, she thought the one that Sandra was extremely critical of was "very good".

Anyhow, I am thinking the following: whoever would think to charge a woman freshly out of shelter something exorbitant DOES NOT have a heart. On the other hand, a person may be compassionate, but seeing her would be a waste of money if she, like my treating therapist, does not know how to write these evaluations.

So I guess I will call around to find somebody who has both the heart and the know-how :)
