Just wanted to share with my fellow petitioners - know that I am reading your stories and sympathize with all your ups and downs every day:

Very likely had nothing to do with it, but shortly after I made a service request about my very overdue EAD (127 days now), I received a message at 6.30 in the morning that my online status changed. I logged in immediately and saw that I was to receive an RFE in the mail.

Relieved to see something happening, but shaking in my boots about the possibility that I may not have anything more convincing than the hundreds of pages of documentation they already have. As in, if that didn't convince them, then what else can I come up with?

Biting my nails waiting for that document to show up in the mailbox.

Hopeful2015,

in my case I submitted following docs with regards to Good Moral Character

-The several letters from the community centers I volunteered while I was out of status (not able to work without EAD)

-Police clearence from the home country

- Numerous letters from my friends that I made in the States

- Training programs that I completed while out of status

- The letter from the congressman whom I participated his humanity service

- The letter from my advocate at the DV shelter where I stayed

- The college transcripts in Germany

- The former employer that I worked for 2 years in the states. The employer who sponsored my J1 visa

Look at this, I wrote on this forum, and right after both pieces of mail came in!

EAD: We cannot tell you anything because you are a third party. What?

RFE: Bona fide marriage

Extreme cruelty

I had about 400 emails between us, plus printouts of text messages and all photos I had. What else could they want?

Extreme cruelty: evaluation from my treating therapist. I have been seeing her since last summer, she is a PhD and all, and has written not 20 (the way Sandra advises here) but 5 pages, plus included results of very long and well-respected inventories. Both PTSD and depression as diagnosis. Also notes from my psychiatrist, whom I have been seeing for about as long. Prescriptions for depression, anxiety and sleep problems.

Those are just the more expansive pieces of evidence, I did provide the basics.

Please advise, what else can I add now if I am claiming mental, emotional and financial abuse?

Another anxious 1 if you couldn't prove abuse probably your psychologist drafted a poor evaluation. The diagnosis is important, but details of abuse in 5 pages?

The IO mentions in the RFE why he is not convinced about abuse and/or bonafide marriage.

Bona fide marriage you show proving commingling finances, having lease agreement, jointly tax return etc,if you do not have you must explain why you do not have .PIctures, messages tell part of the couple story, but it's not enough to prove Bonafide marriage.

Is my understanding correct, that even though I contacted them about the huge delay in processing my EAD before they issued the RFE, they will now have it on hold until they process my response? Thanks!
