I can't even begin to explain how great this freedom feels. I no longer live in fear from my husband's anger outbursts. I don't have to walk on eggshells any more.

It's as though the weight of the world has been lifted from one's shoulders. Glad that you're experiencing this.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

GREENTEACOKIE fill out all pages of the form G325A.

The bonafide marriage was adjudicated already by VAWA unit, but I saw some local offices that issued RFE asking to prove bonafide marriage, just in case submit all documents that you have to prove bonafide marriage. Submit copy of the divorce decree as well, and take the original to the interview.

sandranj,

Thank you.

I downloaded all forms that you have mentioned. I have question regarding the I-912 form.. here is my situation, I am living with someone and he is providing my expenses but this is just for temporary until I get a job. I am not receiving any means-tested or any benefits from the government. Do you think I would still be qualified to waive the fees? I just want to make sure that there is a big chance for me to get qualified, because otherwise if they deny my request, it would cause delay with the processing... I would like to hear from your past experiences if my situation would be ok to qualify to waive the fee.

Thank you so much.

greencokie if you are unemployed, you have no savings or assets then you qualify to have the USCIS fees waived, just mentioned about that when filing form I912.

That's good to know. Thanks Sandra. But should I have to provide the evidence of his income or federal tax return? (the person I am living with)

I have vawa approval and pending i-485. I filed service request for i-485 (due to being out of time frame). I have not received any response for the SR yet while in the online system

said that they sent a response on 5/1. Is it normal ? what should I do ?

I even sent follow up email but I have not received any response for the email

Hi nicesky,

When did you file I-485?did you file it separately from your vawa? Did you try to call uscis to make a follow up? or better yet get an info pass?

yes i filed them separately , here is my question.

i submitted MY Service request by calling USCIS

could USCIS send Service request respond for i-485 based on VAWA? or they can not send the respond due to VAWA confidentiality

Nicesky, you are better off doing a infopass appt, asking them face to face why its delayed, with vawa they do not share info over the phone or through email. They can email notifications about your case, that's about it.

KLOVE got me thru...

As I said, I filled vawa and i-485 separately. In the vawa approval, my priority date is June 2013.

I filled i-485 in Jan 2014. ( I am spouse of PR)

I filed a service request for my i-485 (due to outside processing time), I received a respond that my priority date is

not current while it is , if we consider priority date as date of filing vawa

I think the USCIS made a mistake , am I right?

would you please guide me how I can inform USCIS if they made a mistake.

Thank you

Your priority date is current, and USCIS are wrong.

You should contact the DHS Ombudsman to get this resolved: https://cisomb.dhs.gov/oca/form7001.aspx

Hi, I've been following this topic while.

I recently got email notifications for both vawa and 485 which said it's "post decision activities.

We mailed you a notice." It doesn't say approved or denied.

Im waiting for the letters and I can't tell its details yet.

I got a prima facie after a week from filing concurrently and Ive never got RFE/ NOID for 6.5months.

My case is not strong but I see many people get RFE before uscis decide to deny the case.

Now I feel this is something bad, possibly denial decision.

Could anyone tell me what it means?...
