Yesterday 4 people emailed me about their VAWA cases, but it seems that the new members did not read VAWA part,1,2,3,4 and 5 . Once again I want to inform here that I will not disclose my full name, where I work,my phone number. I will not skype. I am am attorney, but.I am helping people here as an advocate for victims of DV . I am not representing anyone as an attorney. I will not post links about the Law. People looking for these specifics things should hire an attorney where they live.

For all new members to this Vawa journey, pls check out vawa part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4 , part 5 on the forum because alot has been discussed in there. You will also understand why Sandra stopped giving her private info there too. She needs to have a life apart for this forum and we all need answers, but alot can be found on the old vawa parts too.

KLOVE got me thru...

Thank you Casper and mamaof3,I just changed my way to handle vawa because a few people put me in bad situations, such as telling the psychologist I was her attorney when in reality she had one, another old put in the vawa affidavit my name saying I advised him to file VAWA ,other one came to NYC without telling me and wanted to meet me(Sunday) people calling me at.10pm, 11pm, a few depressed wanted to talk/vent (Saturday/Sunday) etc..then I decided not to give my name and phone number anymore.

Mamaof3 if your case is with the local office then you can ask the local office to expedite, but just in case I would send a letter to Vermont as well.

Hi, Hope everyone is doing great!

My VAWA case was approved. YAY! I am preparing for the next step which is filing my AOS, I've downloaded the forms needed but I am confused what documents should I gather? Is there any checklist for AOS under VAWA? and would uscis grant my request to waive the fee? I have no job;no resources to pay the fees. I am living with someone but of course they can't support me to pay the fees. My concern is that, if they deny my request to waive the fee it will delay the process?

Hi guys, a quick question - I changed my address with USCIS online, through the link they post at the bottom of case status updates and after several days I received a notice from them in the mail (new address) that my address has been changed on my pending i-485 and in their system.

Can I leave it there and believe them that they did indeed complete the process of changing my address or do you still advise I schedule an infopass appt?

Thanks in advance!

BTW, yesterday I got a state ID, I received a new health insurance card (guest membership since my insurance is based in the state where I lived with my husband) and it seems I'll get a job soon. I found a new PCP and will find a therapist soon. I can't even begin to explain how great this freedom feels. I no longer live in fear from my husband's anger outbursts. I don't have to walk on eggshells any more.

The network of people I have around me is amazing. I've accomplished more in the last 2 weeks here than I did during the entire year I spent with my husband. He just never cared about helping me and wanted me to do everything on my own or not at all.

Hi Sandanj,

Wow. I didn't know I have to fill out this much forms. Thank you so much for your advise.

Do I really have to submit (2) G325A? or you just typed it twice?

Also what are the supporting documents should I gather? Do I have to submit documents to prove that the marriage is in good faith? (just like what I did in vawa)

I am now divorced, do I need a certified true copy to submit to them? or a copy would be ok?

Sorry if I am asking too much question, I am doing my best to do this all by myself now. I used to work with catholic charities on my vawa case but I don't have money to pay them $375 to open a new case again. So, I am taking my chances to seek advise through forums especially from people who has experienced with this.
