How long before someone can file infopass regarding i485 application? Vawa approved December, i485 filed in june 2014, local office status is currently working on July 12, 2014... Please respond if you have any ideas. thanks

I think I remember reading here before, that it has to be out of normal processing time. You have to check the USCIS website and check their processing time for I485 application at your local office. And even though you submited it in July 2014 the processing time doesn't start until they actually look at it, which is after your VAWA approval. So I think, I could be wrong lol basically the processing time started in December 2014 for you. So if your local office processing time is, lets say 5 months, then you will have to wait the 5 months after December for it to be out of normal processing time. (go online and see when your I485 was first touched after your VAWA approval in December and basically 5 months after that, I think)

Doing good thanks!

Well I could be wrong lol but that's how I understood it from before when I read other peoples post. So basically the processing time for I485 didn't start until after a persons VAWA was approved. Which makes sense right, as you first need VAWA approved to file I485, even if you send them together the processing time for I485 won't start until they know your VAWA is approved.

Just check the processing time for your local office at the USCIS website and just have to wait! Yeah I know it sucks having to hear that lol to just wait. but that's all you can pretty much do right now :/ but hey its just a matter of time now before you have your I485 approved :)

Hi I'm finally with wifi. I had move from my son's grandmothers home on tuesday CPS told us we had to stay with her until my apartment was ready. The only problem now is my husband is still calling me and leaving me voice mails. The office at CPS told me I could get a restraining order against him but I don't think he will be silent towards me he's just upset that I left a note explain I wanted a divorce, thus he text me that he wants to do counseling I told him its a trust problem with my son is why I wouldn't take him back. He has already been to my sons grandmothers house twice this week. I quit my job on Sunday. He was calling my job 5-6 times till my manager picked up and asked me what was going on. My manager stayed in the parking lot just incase my husband showed up. CPS still has the case open they said he had been cooperating with them.

What do I do next?

Hi there, I'm in need of some advice asap. My issue,

I came to the U.S in 2010 on a student visa, after three years in college I got married to my USC husband in may 2013, when we were courting he was very sweet and a gentle man. In august of 2014 we applied for adjustment of status did the whole biometrics. Last week Monday we got called in for an interview but it was denied because I decided to not tell my husband about the usicis letter I had gotten in the mail and just told him I had an appointment to go to, I explained what was going on to the officer viewing our case and he just said that he would have to deny because my husband/ sponsor wasn't their. He gave me a list of lawyer and thats it,

The reason I didn't want to file with my husband was because in the first week of January I was coming out of the shower when I heard my 2 and a half yr old son gagging and I heard my husband scream for him to stop, my son couldn't seem to control vomiting so my husband hit him and he started crying. I was in shocked, and I immediately came out of the bathroom to console my son, I was too shocked and scared to tell my husband anything, In the past he has given me dirty looks and gotten mad at me because I couldn't stop my son from crying. He has even told my son if he didn't stop crying that he was going to leave. My son is my husbands step son. I have spoken to a consoler at the place were my son gets for therapy and she said has advise me to leave because there are times when I went to work where my husband hadn't changed my son's diapers or feed him in the 5 hours since getting him from daycare and picking me up from work. Since that incident I don't trust him with my son at all. He has also said my son got a gab mark on his face from school when his teacher told me he didn't. Help please.

in the 90s I suggest you get a restraining order against him, if he violates the restraining order CALL the police immediately and he will be arrested. The restraining order is just not to keep him physically away from you, but to end ALL form of contact with you, even about him reaching a third party to find out about you.You should not answer his calls anymore.

Please seek some counseling. He is clearly an abusive man, and hitting your child is despicable . Abusers commonly promise to change, but please do not be fool for this kind of promises, because it's a matter of time for him to abuse again not just your child, but you as well. If he wants to go for counseling let him to seek some help for himself, but you do not need to be part of his life anymore.A person capable to batter a child/woman/man is a coward, someone with the moral compass broken. Going back to him you will be endangering your child's life.

Did you file for VAWA?

Hi,I haven't filed a vawa yet, I wanted to take a train to seek an attorney this week, just for advise. I have already applied for a background check. This has been extremely draining in every way but I'm going to get the application printed from a library on Monday. Thanks for your reply.
