Dear friends,

Just wanted to share my experience with interview for green card. It was scheduled for January 26. The immigration officer was very nice. She asked my date of birth, a copy of my divorce, all my work permits and advance paroles. She compared APs to a list of entries that I made last year to make sure my AP cards were valid when I was entering the US. I made about 5-6 trips on advance parole last year. She asked how many time I was married. I was married only once. Because I filed my I-485 in November 2013, my medical exam expired. She asked for a new copy and I did not have it. She looked at the schedule of next available appointments and asked to come back in two weeks with a new copy of medical report. She also let me make a call to a doctor while in her office to make sure I could schedule an appointment to be able to return in 2 weeks. So guys, I would suggest that you do a new medical exam if you know for sure that your previous one expired. I went back with my new medical on February 6. The officer opened an envelope, looked it through and said she would approve my case. When I left the office I received an email saying that they registered my permanent residency. Today I received another email saying that card is in production and will be mailed to me.

I would like to thank Sandranj for all her help. Sandra, I very much appreciate all your help throughout my journey. It was a very long and difficult road for me but finally I made it to the end. This would not happen without such wonderful people like Sandra. I am wishing luck to everyone. Thanks again everyone!

Oh lank praise the Lord we both started our journey around the same time I am still on mines since they havent approved my son as yet. I am so happy for you thanks be to God!!!!!!

This is my 8th month since my interview last july and so far havent heard anything..l have a lawyer but l dont think he,s doing a good job with the follow up..he did an infopass 2 months ago.is it ok if l do another infopass on my own because everytime l ask my lawyer to inquire about my case they charge me $85 despite the fact that I,ve paid almost $6000 since l started my case.

Also l received a jury duty notice yesterday...does anybody know anything about that?

Oh missymd I dont understand why some IOs work so speedily and others just lag on the cases. I too had a useless lawyer this is just to long now.

Kimmra people have to tell the truth about the abuse. Some people here in the thread filed Vawa twice ,because when drafting their affidavits they did not tell the story properly, some did not submit enough proof of the abuse or bonafide marriage, but i never heard that someone "changed the story", changing the story clearly show a dishonest way to obtain an immigration benefit.

There is a HUGE difference between an unhealthy marriage and an abusive marriage, between having a mean husband and an abuser.

Change your story? that sounds like you are going to make up a new story or make up evidence, doesn't sound honest at all. You could get into a lot of trouble with USCIS for making false statements. VSC still has your first vawa petition, if they compare it with your new vawa application and see that something doesn't add up, you will get denied again.

Why did they deny your first Vawa petition?

My Vawa was approved last summer, AOS is still pending, I didn't get an interview yet. I just travelled outside of the US with advanced parole and came back without a single problem. I am planning to use it again real soon. Just letting you guys know :dancing:
