Sandranj,

Something strange happened to me.I got my green card through VAWA June 2014 and after 6 months,I received 3 emails and 3 text messages saying :

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

Receipt Number: EACxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Application Type: I131, APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On September 30, 2013, we approved your Form I131, APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT, Receipt Number EACxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your approval notice by October 30, 2013, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

WHAT THAT MEANS?do I need this travel document?I never received one before...Is my green card works as travel document? Why they send me this texts and emails?what should i do?

Don't worry about it. USCIS seems to send out messages about old cases from time to time. Since it's for your AP and you already have your green card then it isn't something you need to be concerned about. our green card is your travel authorisation.

Dear friends,

Just wanted to share my experience with interview for green card. It was scheduled for January 26. The immigration officer was very nice. She asked my date of birth, a copy of my divorce, all my work permits and advance paroles. She compared APs to a list of entries that I made last year to make sure my AP cards were valid when I was entering the US. I made about 5-6 trips on advance parole last year. She asked how many time I was married. I was married only once. Because I filed my I-485 in November 2013, my medical exam expired. She asked for a new copy and I did not have it. She looked at the schedule of next available appointments and asked to come back in two weeks with a new copy of medical report. She also let me make a call to a doctor while in her office to make sure I could schedule an appointment to be able to return in 2 weeks. So guys, I would suggest that you do a new medical exam if you know for sure that your previous one expired. I went back with my new medical on February 6. The officer opened an envelope, looked it through and said she would approve my case. When I left the office I received an email saying that they registered my permanent residency. Today I received another email saying that card is in production and will be mailed to me.

I would like to thank Sandranj for all her help. Sandra, I very much appreciate all your help throughout my journey. It was a very long and difficult road for me but finally I made it to the end. This would not happen without such wonderful people like Sandra. I am wishing luck to everyone. Thanks again everyone!

Sounds like you had a really nice IO; I was beginning to doubt that they existed.

Congratulations.

Hi, I would ask if somebody knows how long does it takes to get schedule for Green Card interview in Los Angeles after VAWA I-360 has been approved?

I apply for 1-360 and I-485 at the same time

I have receipt date and priority date as August 26, 2014

got my work permit card on October 29, 2014

vawa case approved on December, 9 2014

People has told me that it takes longer in Los Angeles I was just wondering if somebody has any information on that and what to expect on the interview

Thanks a lot

It looks like on 31st December 2014 LA was processing I-485s filed on or before 26th July 2014. You're only a month behind that, so I would anticipate hearing something regarding your interview probably within the next month or so.

I filed i485 after vawa approval. I had my interview and the officer told me visa is not available and she will approve my green card when the visa is available

(I am spouse of green card holder )

would you please let me know if vawa receipt date (aug 2013) is my priority date or i485 receipt date (jan 2014) .

my medical exam report is expired now, do you recommend to send a new one or it is better to get ref for medical

Thank you

You would go by the priority date listed on your I-360 receipt or approval notice.

This is my 8th month since my interview last july and so far havent heard anything..l have a lawyer but l dont think he,s doing a good job with the follow up..he did an infopass 2 months ago.is it ok if l do another infopass on my own because everytime l ask my lawyer to inquire about my case they charge me $85 despite the fact that I,ve paid almost $6000 since l started my case.

Also l received a jury duty notice yesterday...does anybody know anything about that?
