One question-, there are many threads on how to sign the naturalization certificate? should it be exactly same as on the photo of the certificate?

That's a good question.

I read online that you ment to sign it exactly as your name appears on the certificate, but others have said sign it per the photo.

When i signed my photos I was only asked to sign my signature by the officer, not my full name as a signature.

Anyone know ?

I signed my naturalization certificate same as my signature near the photo on the naturalization certificate, which is my regular signature and mostly unreadable .

I think the meaning of 'complete signature' is that it should not be just initials. I interpret that Its not mandatory to write entire name including middle initial.

I had my interview today and the officer asked me sign my name on the left side of the photo. He asked me if that's the signature I'd be using or if I want to change it? I only wrote one way so I don't understand why or how I'd change that.

In another post you mentioned that you requested a legal name change Most people who change their names would have to change their signatures to match. I'm not sure how your signature is going to stay the same if you've changed your name. I assume that you only made a very minor change to your name.

I didn't change my name. My friend who had her interview on Monday got divorced this year and changed her name back to her maiden name. She wanted that to be on her naturalization certificate. But when I went to my interview yesterday,the officer made me sign he left side of the pictures,he then asked me if that's the signature I'm going to use or if I want to change it? I've only written one way my entire life,so I'm not sure what he was referring too. I got approved,even though she went through the same process as myself,she wasn't approved on the spot. They told her she passed the civics and English test,but he just needs to go over her immigration history and told her something about an oath letter and a time frame of 120 days. He told me in two weeks to two months I should expect a letter in the mail.

Git it! Sorry, I mixed up your story with your friend's. Strange question for him to ask... maybe he just didn't like your signature and was suggesting you should think about changing it! :-)

The IO was very nice, and the whole interview took about 15 minutes - she was recommended for approval! I accompanied her in the waiting room (wait was 1.5 hours), but the IO caught only a brief glimpse of me.

Questions asked:

1) What does the President's cabinet do?

2) We elect Senators for how many years?

3) If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

4) How many justices are there on the Supreme Court?

5) What did the declaration of independence do?

6) Who makes federal laws?

She was asked to write "We celebrate Columbus Day in October" and to read a very similar sentence about Columbus Day.

After she answered all of the questions, the IO asked for Bank Statements (1 for each of 2014 and 2015), Lease Agreement,

Utility Bills (1 for each of 2014 and 2015), Tax Transcript for 2014 (we had sent 2011 - 2013). We were over-prepared for this part,

and even brought photos of us, her Birth Certificate, originals of the marriage license and my Naturalization Certificate, and much more. But better safe than sorry!

I had my interview and oath ceremony today. I'm officially a US citizen . My interview took like 10 minutes. I was asked these civil questions:

1. What is the law of the land?

2. What do we show loyalty to.....?

3.Who did the US fight during world war?

4. What is the capital of my state?

Sorry I forgot the remaining two questions. I did the reading and writing test. I had my Oath ceremony 2 hours later after the interview. Thanks to everybody for the contributions to this thread, they were all helpful. Good luck to you all.

Please update and redden my timeline.
