I had my interview today and wanted to share my experience.

The things I brought with me were my Marriage certificate, divorce certificate (previous marriage) this years tax forms, ALL passports (3 altogether- 2 expired) Interview letter...I think that's it. The only thing they asked to see was my interview letter!

I got there at 9.05am (10 min before my appointment) and it was relatively busy. I went through security and then put my interview letter through a slot as required and then sat and wait. I was called about 20min later by a very pleasant lady who chatted with me on the way back to her office. Immediatley before sitting down I had to take the oath and then we got right into the civics portion! Now, these questions are generated from their computers and my questions were EXACTLY the same another user on this forum who also had their interview today, Sopropano I think the username is. So much so that, when I couldn't remember one of the questions asked, I scrolled though what Soprano user had put and it reminded me! They were as follows:

How many senators are there?

What's the ocean on the east coast of the US?

When was the Constitution writen?

Name one State that borders with Mexico?

What is freedom of religion?

When should people apply for selective service

Coincidence that we had the same questions or maybe something more into it like the same questions are generated on the same day? Might be worth looking into to see of theres a pattern.... anyway, after this I had to do the English portion. This surprised me seeing as im from England and English is my 1st Language. Well, I passed that of course and then she got to my application packet. Just normal qs like date of birth, where do I work. She then asked how many times I had been out of the US in the last 5 years which I couldn't remember. When I mentioned that my last time was this summer she said it wasn't on there. I thought that was very strange as its unlike me to miss something out like that so I said that im sure I would've put it on a separate paper if I had run out of space on the official form. She looked and there it was! Then she got to arrested/citation portion. This was where I was nervous. I had not disclosed my traffic violation for speeding 3 years ago ($70) but I had read people saying that youre under oath and its still a citation despite being under $500. I had also read people saying it doesn't matter. I therefore wanted to play it safe and decided to tell her. I did not want it coming back to haunt me later even if the probability of that was small. I stopped her and said that I wasn't sure I had to disclose it due to being under $500 but wanted to disclose it now. I said that I could get an instant driving report if need be (you can download it for a fee of $40) but she said that she could access it (of course she could, she is part of the government I suppose haaha) and a few taps on the keyboard it appeared from the printer. She made a few corrections on my N400 and it was done.

She then updated her system and told me I was approved. I had to sign a paper and then......the best bit! She told me that I could wait for an oath ceremony letter for a local location OR she could put me in the system for the ceremony taking place in 2 weeks (5th May) at The Arches National Park in Moab! She told me the ceremony would be beautiful and outside in a lovely setting. Of course I said yes and she said to expect to receive a letter stating times etc in a few days!! Moab is only a few hours from us and its a beautiful National Park! I even asked if we could take our dog and she went into a convo with me about how she loves dogs etc etc. I don't think we will take her though... Anyway, my husband and I are going to make a little vacation out of it. Stay at hotel night before and attend ceremony next day.

My interview was today 04/20/2015 appointment was 12.45 pm arrived there like 12.15 and was called at 12.40 .

I was asked for my green card and Driver's license the IO made copies .I was sworn in to say that truth .Went through the N400 yes and no questions.Please try to remember what you wrote in your application its important .She asked me the civic question 1.who is the father of our country 2.what month do we vote for president 3.who is the chief justice of the united states 4.we elect a representative for how many years 5. the house of representative has how many voting members 5.6.How many years do we elect a president .After answering all she stopped on 6 and asked me to read .Why so people come to America ,she told me the answer .People come to America to be free and asked me to write that and that was my English test .She then can me a letter that I was recommended for approval and she said the next oath ceremony will be May 20th I will receive a letter in mail where to go and what time .Thought I would share this may help someone .Study the civic question and carry all documents even though was not asked for tax transcript and passport but I carried everything just to be safe .

Hi

I had my interview today and wanted to share my experience.

The things I brought with me were my Marriage certificate, divorce certificate (previous marriage) this years tax forms, ALL passports (3 altogether- 2 expired) Interview letter...I think that's it. The only thing they asked to see was my interview letter!

I got there at 9.05am (10 min before my appointment) and it was relatively busy. I went through security and then put my interview letter through a slot as required and then sat and wait. I was called about 20min later by a very pleasant lady who chatted with me on the way back to her office. Immediatley before sitting down I had to take the oath and then we got right into the civics portion! Now, these questions are generated from their computers and my questions were EXACTLY the same another user on this forum who also had their interview today, Sopropano I think the username is. So much so that, when I couldn't remember one of the questions asked, I scrolled though what Soprano user had put and it reminded me! They were as follows:

How many senators are there?

What's the ocean on the east coast of the US?

When was the Constitution writen?

Name one State that borders with Mexico?

What is freedom of religion?

When should people apply for selective service

Coincidence that we had the same questions or maybe something more into it like the same questions are generated on the same day? Might be worth looking into to see of theres a pattern.... anyway, after this I had to do the English portion. This surprised me seeing as im from England and English is my 1st Language. Well, I passed that of course and then she got to my application packet. Just normal qs like date of birth, where do I work. She then asked how many times I had been out of the US in the last 5 years which I couldn't remember. When I mentioned that my last time was this summer she said it wasn't on there. I thought that was very strange as its unlike me to miss something out like that so I said that im sure I would've put it on a separate paper if I had run out of space on the official form. She looked and there it was! Then she got to arrested/citation portion. This was where I was nervous. I had not disclosed my traffic violation for speeding 3 years ago ($70) but I had read people saying that youre under oath and its still a citation despite being under $500. I had also read people saying it doesn't matter. I therefore wanted to play it safe and decided to tell her. I did not want it coming back to haunt me later even if the probability of that was small. I stopped her and said that I wasn't sure I had to disclose it due to being under $500 but wanted to disclose it now. I said that I could get an instant driving report if need be (you can download it for a fee of $40) but she said that she could access it (of course she could, she is part of the government I suppose haaha) and a few taps on the keyboard it appeared from the printer. She made a few corrections on my N400 and it was done.

She then updated her system and told me I was approved. I had to sign a paper and then......the best bit! She told me that I could wait for an oath ceremony letter for a local location OR she could put me in the system for the ceremony taking place in 2 weeks (5th May) at The Arches National Park in Moab! She told me the ceremony would be beautiful and outside in a lovely setting. Of course I said yes and she said to expect to receive a letter stating times etc in a few days!! Moab is only a few hours from us and its a beautiful National Park! I even asked if we could take our dog and she went into a convo with me about how she loves dogs etc etc. I don't think we will take her though... Anyway, my husband and I are going to make a little vacation out of it. Stay at hotel night before and attend ceremony next day.
