Hi VJ members, happy to report that I became a U.S. Citizen yesterday along with 69 other people. The ceremony itself was short but the end was so rewarding.

Wanted to thank everyone on this forum since I'm not sure how I would have gotten through this process on my own. I may even miss the hours I spent scouring through the site just to relieve the worry of when a notice will be sent, or what it really means once it has been sent (then again maybe not). Wishing everyone a speedy and successful end to their journey

KASH2011 please update me. I am now a citizen of the U.S. As of 4/13/15. Thanks for all your help.

Congratulations to HHBSailing!

My question is that my father was placed online for an interview on February 24, 2015. His field office is NYC. We have already booked tickets for a vacation out of the United States on July 8th. Im not wondering whether or not he'd be done with his interview and his oath ceremony. Passport isnt a problem as there is a place in Manhattan that you can get it within a day. Just wondered about whether he can get these two processes over with. What do you guys think?

I just read your post.. I will be having my interview on May 19 at Federal Plaza too.. Im just curious, After the interview, they don't let you choose a date for the oath taking?

Does anyone know how long it is taking for the New York office between the interview and the oath ceremony?

I filed on November 17, 2014

Biometrics December 8, 2014

Interview April 10, 2015 at Federal Plaza NYC -- Approved

I know New York is backlogged, but any idea what the waiting period is to get an oath ceremony letter?

It's a case to case basis. I have a co-worker who had her interview last Jan. 22. She just had her oath taking last March 19. She had a name change so that might be a reason why it took longer for her. She lives in Queens but had her interview at Federal Plaza. She had her oath ceremony in Brooklyn Courthouse.

They don't let you choose. Not that I am aware of. Remember to take your Tax Account Transcripts that show you owe nothing on your taxes for the last 3 years. I had a minor hiccup because I had the Tax Return Transcript and not the Tax Account Transcript. All available on irs.gov.

Hello guys,

I have been placed in line in March 16th, after that i have not received any notice from USCIS. So i called them, and got an answer that i have to wait 90 days to get my interview notice. :( , just wondering why it takes so long? I'm impatient to see other people filed on the same day, and already got their interview. This is suck!

Priority Day: 10/20/2015

Transferred to Potomac: December, 2nd

NOA 2: 03/11/2016
