Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On March 3, 2015, we started the interview scheduling process for your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number NBC*00. We will send you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

Maybe a lot of people did background checks same time as you and the processing took longer? Can't say why. Your field office is Federal Plaza? I wasn't expecting this so fast,I thought it would be at the end of this month,as I did biometrics on February 27th. But on Tuesday I got the email and text notifications. I was shocked.

Mine didn't take long at all. What could be the reason for mine to be so fast? Who knows! Just luck of the draw based on unknown factors, but a known factor is definitely the field office. The important thing is that it's moving along. Most of us waited way longer to get GCs than this N-400 will take to complete, so don't worry . As you may have noticed, others are getting texts, but I only ever got one for my NOA, nothing else (same for my wife). Who knows why some get them and others don't.

Yes we both have the same field office but what I think is early bio screwed me up

I actually wanted to do my biometrics early as a walk in,but time wasn't on my side. The good thing is our application is progressing. I figured NY processing times would be longer,but I guess I was wrong.

Hello I have a question about the timeline of the application. I applied at the USCIS Dallas/Lewisville, Texas Lockbox from New York City in January 2015. I had my biometrics done on 2/6, and on 2/10 I saw my status online changed to:

"On February 10, 2015, we started the interview scheduling process for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization"

However, up to now I have not received any interview letter. Is it normal to wait that long between the status change and the interview letter? If they set an interview date for me would I be able to see the status change and interview date online? I am nervous because my building has had a lot of problems with lost mails recently.

It's normal. Mines is the same and I'm from New York and applied in January. I did biometrics last Friday and on Tuesday I got the email that I'm in line for an interview. Nothing in the mail so far. don't worry,they'll mail us when they have an interview date for us.
