Yeah but we have a very good lawyer for a reason. My immigration lawyer is Margaret Wong. She will guide us step by step.

Then why are you asking us questions??

Call Margaret Wong and ask her.

Because it cost money to talk on the phone to her. And I like talking to normal average people who have had experiences doing this process. This is what this website is for. If everyone would just go talk to their lawyers, then this website wouldnt exist. I am just acting questions, no need for anyone to be mad and ignorant.

If the US immigration policy wasnt so stupid and unecessarily complex, then we would have no problems would we ?

The illegals get treated better then people who are legal. Explain that ?

Nobody is being "mad" or "ignorant". Simply asking you a question just like you're asking. However as this is a DIY site, most don't use lawyers for their process. So when one has access to a lawyer usually it makes sense to ask them the question if they're handling the case.

The joint sponsor can be any lpr or citizen providing they can support their household size and you for at least 125% of the poverty guidelines. Does your uncle have any dependants?

No my uncle has 2 sons, but they are old and no longer dependents. Theres only 2 people in his household. So how would it work ?

Thanks for the very helpful immigration advice. It helped me alot lol

His household size would then be 3. He'd need to make at least $24,737

So would my uncle be the affidavit of support ?

Your wife needs to file one regardless and he would file an I-864a

But my wife is only 19, so she is young and obviously with no income but a little and a dependent still.

Thank you for the help and advice !

If your lawyer is charging you by the hour then I would definitely change lawyers. Immigration attorneys generally charge a package fee with their retainer, not by the hour.

You pay for what you get.
