Were the BB gun idiots carrying the guns when the police arrived or was the situation handled by store security and the police arrived after the incident was over? One of the links provided sounds like the men were arrested after they left the store. That may have played a part in them not getting shot.

Crawford was the victim of an over zealous 911 caller who was feeding the cops bad information and was shot buy a cop who didn't take a moment to evaluate the situation. He is listening to a report of a man with a gun, he turns corner and sees a man with a gun and fires. It doesn't seem like it was because he was black. Cop fired immediately, and it was tragic that he didn't hesitate for a second or two, but he acted the way he did because of the info he was being given.

It's coming to the point where toy guns will be regulated as the general public has become almost paranoid when seeing any type of gun. The more shootings there are, the bigger the problem will become. Kids have been shot playing with toy guns. When I was younger, you'd see hunters walking down the street carrying a shotgun and no one would even give them a second glance. You knew what they were doing and people didn't freak out.
