Bride Natalie Heimel and groom Edward Mallue Jr. actually invited Obama, who is on his annual vacation, to attend their Saturday wedding at Marine Corps Base Hawaii's Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course, according to a Bloomberg report published Monday morning. They received a letter in response saying the president would unfortunately be unable to attend the event.

The soon-to-be-married couple were separately told they would be forced to move their wedding, which was scheduled for the next day, because Obama would be golfing at that location.

But sure, let's impeach him for this. This is probably the best reason yet that has been brought up to start the proceedings.

Still, anyone planning an event at the course when the president may be in town is warned about the potential for last-minute shuffling, said Naile Brennan, manager of K Bay Catering, which was handling logistics for the wedding. Brennan said they had other sites ready to go, and the couple ended up choosing the lush, green lawn near the home of Colonel Eric Schaefer, the commanding officer of the base, which offers an elevated view near the 16th hole.

“It's much prettier and much nicer venue unless you're an avid golfer,” Brennan said. “It's more secluded and there are no golfers yelling, 'Fore!'”

An administration spokesman referred questions about the day to the military base, and it's not clear the White House would have been informed about the wedding in advance. After Bloomberg Politics inquired about the scheduling conflict, Obama put in a personal call to the bride.

“He apologized and congratulated them,” McCarthy said, adding that it was a “wonderful talk.”

“We were all there, it was perfect,” she said. “Made their day.”

The couple, Natalie Heimel and Edward Mallue Jr., received an RSVP on Saturday from the President declining the invitation but sending them good wishes.

Later on Saturday they were told they'd have to relocate their wedding venue away from the golf course, which is located on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, because the President was planing to play golf.

Obama regularly plays on the course, and anyone planning an event there is told ahead of time that plans may be reshuffled at the last minute when the President in town, according to a manager from the company that handled logistics for the wedding.

Naile Brenna, the manager, said they had alternative options on stand-by, and the couple ended up having their wedding at a "much prettier and much nicer venue" near the home of the base's commanding officer, which has a view near the 16th hole.

Obama apologist.

Not just me. The wedded couple as well. Saw them on the morning news today. They seemed happy and called the relocation of their wedding a "blessing in disguise". They also said that they were well aware that one of two things might force them to an alternate location - which they had fully arranged for. Weather and the President being in town. They were not angry. They must not be right wingers.

They must be enjoying the generous "wedding gift" the President's handlers dropped off.
