Hello everybody,

i have my visa interview in the end of the january and as i was preparing my documents i found out that in my italian university diploma my surname is not spelled as in my passport. In my native language my surname is written Çanaj, while in every document that i have had in Italy they have always issued it with Canaj...

So my university diploma and my police certificate from italian policy has my surname incorrect.

Is it a real problem?? i am very preoccupied... and i think i dont have time to make any corrections because i have to send the documents next week...

Hi,

I think you worry unnecessarily. Looking at the two spelling you have shown, the only difference I see is the use of letter C instead of Ç. And since the letter Ç is not in the lattin alphabet, it is natural for Italian documents to substitute it with C. I don't see a problem.
