What are you reading?

i have just started "Unbroken " by Laura Hillenbrand. It's a hard book to put down-I"ll probably finish it by the end of the day.

I am interested to see if the movie will come to Japan...films take forever to get here and some right wing groups might put pressure on cinemas not to show it.

Any recommendations of other good books?

That book probably spent more time in the top 10 on the NY Times' best-seller list during 2014 than any other, si man.

With a high-maintenance toddler, I haven't read any book in recent memory, sigh man...

Edited to add: Haven't read any adult-level book in recent memory. Tonight, read "Hooray for Thomas" and "Hooray for Pig" to Mini-Bone, hooray man.

The Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett.

Discovered Randall Garrett last month, been on a reading binge on his works since, wanted to read all of his stuff then start writing commentary. Can't recommend a particular title, one way or the other, but I like his FBI serials a lot.

No Man's Nightmare by Ruth Rendall. A murder mystery and not too bad so far.

Before that "Gone Girl" , which was as addictive as reported to be. A pretty cynical look at relationships-lol!

Have you read the authors other two books that she wrote previous to Gone Girl? I really liked them, even if they weren't as "polished" as Gone Girl was. I would recommend if you haven't!

I'm reading "Say You're One of Them" by Uwen Akpan. A lot of people don't like it because it's depressing, but hey, life is depressing sometimes. I lived and worked in Sub-Saharan Africa for two years, so some of it hits pretty close to home for me.

I'm interested in reading the Detroit book next.
