Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding paying the IV with a cashiers paycheck. as you might have noticed that the NVC has been experiencing problems with their website and we couldn't pay the IV bill even though we got the IV invoice.

the lawyer send a paycheck to the address mentioned on the NVC and exactly as requested to be filled and sent, on Dec 17th.

yesterday I checked online and it is still showing not paid, shouldn't it be showing processing?

I called the NVC before yesterday, and they said they got the paycheck, then I called yesterday, and the operator told me that there is something missing and asked me if the lawyer send the IV bill invoice with the paycheck and I said yes, then he asked me if the lawyer send the coversheet with the paycheck (I was like what? LOL) it is not mentioned at all on the invoice or the NVC website that you should include the coversheet with the paycheck payment.

anyways, I called again and another operator told me that it takes up to 15 days for the payment to be cleared and to show as paid, I do not know what to believe :rofl:

I really have no idea if those people even know what they are talking about, I think they are just making excuses what soever :protest:

anyone knows whats happening to us?

thanks

give it two weeks from courier arrival date (usps, fedex, dhl, ups, whatever)

as

there's :

1. a receiving dock and

2. a queue out of the receiving dock

3. routing to internal office and

4. human must process the check and

5. computer must track clearance of check and

6. maybe clearance is noticed 2 weeks later.

wait for it, aye?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Most people pay online and it clears in a few days, that's why the operators aren't sure how long a check will take. Your lawyer should have known to send a barcoded coversheet anytime you send anything to the NVC. That is a standard procedure. Without the coversheet, it could take a couple weeks for them to match the check with your file.

but they told me that they paycheck was received :) so they know what case it belongs to :) because when the lawyer send the paycheck, he attached the invoice with it which has the name of the beneficiary and the bar-code that has the case number
