As per my own experience and I have also searched on Google that Indians staying abroad facing the problem in getting approval at NVC FOR THE PCC obtained at local passport office in Other Countries. Recently I have got checklist and one more vj faced same problem and in addition to this I went through some other threads where Indian staying abroad faced the same problem. We had submitted the original PCC to NVC and NVC gave us the checklist. Mostlikely this checklist because the PCC that we obtained doesn't has titel that it is Police Clearance Certificate, but the funny thing about this letter issued is that title exist on the random page of passport as an endorsement stamp. Earlier NVC was not asking applicant to submit PCC instead applicant can bring PCC at the time of interview, hence there one could explain this thing in person to american consulate officer at the time of interview. Well yesterday I contacted officer at High Commission of India Singapore whose signature is there on my PCC and ask him to explain and clarify why NVC gave me checklist even though I have already submitted original PCC. He sent me an explanatory email saying they are issuing this kind of PCC in recent past and US embassy have accepted the same and also asked me to bring this issue to NVC which I already done. I already talked to supervisor and told this is what they are issuing. However, I don't know when my case status will change to case complete. I am also going to write an email again to ask them to clarify this thing to NVC by sending them the pattern of PCC or by something else if there is a confusion regarding the same. I have also forwarded the email of officer of High commission of India to NVC to bring their attention to PCC. At least they are aware of it and don't give checklist to other Indians (WHO IS STAYING ABROAD) for PCC. Well I would like to request to other people who faced same problem so that I can bring this issue in highlight at least Indian embassy change their pattern in issuing PCC so in future it become more clear to NVC to pass an approval for an individuals.

i would suggest instead of emailing about it,

you include copies of these pieces of paper

as a postal mailer

into NVC

with your barcoded cover sheet,

and a cover letter noting that the policy in Singapore has changed, asking a supervisor to make note of the change and change the policy manual in real time.

Although email is convenient to you, it's not useful to get real work done at NVC....

if you want to get a supervisor to actually read your email, submit again wtih subject line: Supervisor Review Requested

and then you wait.

Also, I would not try (in future postings) to glom 'all Indians abroad' as this is a problem specific to Singapore - PI workers, Indonesian workers, Indian workers there, all have this problem. It's not 'Indian' Specific, it's specious to claim that it is a worldwide problem (which your topic alludes to) since it's a problem with Singapore.

Singapore PCCs have been a problem these last 2.5 years, there was a change then. Sorry yer having problems, but at least you got something into NVC, and you might have resolution about it soon.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Earlier When I received checklist from NVC, at that time I had posted a topic Under Title " Does anyone faced this kind of problem?" in this topic on the second page one of the person posted that her husband who is Indian and currently in Canada also faced same problem. Also I have read several post earlier who wasn't from Singapore or Indonesia faced the problem. Also I think Indian Embassy worldwide giving same kind of piece of Paper which doesn't has title on it that it is PCC.

I really appreciate your advice I will email Supervisor again to bring Supervisor's actual attentions. I am quite afraid to send it by actual post because it could take another 60 days instead of 30 days to review the document. It is really very frustrating.

Thanks a lot

oh. i am understanding more, after rereading it.

you're not having a problem with the SINGAPORE PCC,

you're having a problem with the INDIAN PCC issued by the Indian Embassy in Singapore.

man, that's got to suck, a lot. Singapore changed up their procedures about 2.5 years ago, made it almost impossible to get a PCC for a foreign worker anymore, without the NVC Checklist letter to give over to a Singapore Cop at a Singapore Office in Singapore.

Your Embassy, in Singapore, is messing up so badly, that NVC won't accept the INDIAN clearance for your time in INDIA? That is massive suckage !

It was damn easy for me to get Singapore PCC, after NOA2 i applied for it and I received a very precise PCC from singapore police in 20 days. Also I am working here on P2 catagory of pass so getting PCC from Singapore Police wasnt tough task. I received Indian police clearance also but NVC had not accepted it and gave me checklist. Yeah it sucks. Well I already requested NVC to review it, I hope they do it properly.

Could you please advice me on the same. I have sent 2 to 3 mails to NVC, also when I called NVC I talk to Supervisor on the same issue, they told me that it will take at least 2 weeks to review it. Do you think I should go ahead and send the email I received from my embassy and a cover letter which consists of explanation of everything to NVC by post?? Or I should just wait for the results of review.

you could request a supervisor review on an email collection , submitted newly

or

handle the postal mailer bits that i covered in post #33.

That's all the advice I have, save to write up a written letter of attestation describing the steps done to obtain the Indian PCC in Singapore at the Indian Consulate There, showing exactly what was given over, a scan of that 'PCC' in the email attachment.

'written letter of attestation' - there's a format for it - but in the same breath, you must print it out, sign it, and scan it (as a pdf) back in - the signature is important. it then becomes a file attachment to the email.

the body of the email must contain the casefile info, yer bio info, etc.... along with a detailed write-up of the problems you are having with a reviewer at the NVC not understanding what is put in front of them for reviewing. You've written a bit here about it, I suggest you flesh it out a bit more and write it in narrative form for the body of that email.

Hello there,

I still don't have any updates on my case...hopefully hear something soon....

I have tried calling NVC on Friday but wasn't succeeded ( the call wasn't going through) will try again on Monday. I would also like to ask you did your husband tried to send an explain to NVC that what exactly it is otherwise they might give checklist again. Daranell ( VJ) suggested me that We need to write a letter signed by us and explain them everything in the letter. All the attachment must be printed and scanned in one PDF file. That would be easy for supervisor to understand and we can avoid another checklist. Also when I call NVC on Monday I will let you know the update. Thanks a lot for update.

If he has scan copy of PCC obtained from Indian embassy at Canada should be enough to explain them.

Posted

yes he does......thank you

So please ask him to prepare a formate in which first the letter of explanation that will explain that he already submitted the copy then attach the recent checklist by highlighting indian staying abroad obtained PCC from embassy and then scan copy of Pcc and finally the endorsement stamp on passport and front and last of passport all should come in one pdf format to explain them then only they will understand what we want to convey to them. I hope everything goes well for you guys
