Oddly, I had most of my wrapping done a week ago. Now that the little one isn't so little anymore, we put all the presents under the tree last weekend. This lets her get more excited and wondering what might be in them boxes. Only one item left to wrap - it's on the UPS delivery truck still but will be here by end of day. Talk about just-in-time delivery.

mine isn't little anymore, but i wrap and then rebox it all. so he's probably sitting on the computer right now, two feet away from all his presents and no clue.

i wish i had been more on the ball this year. i procrastinated too much, amazon prime has me spoiled.

Amazon and the internet in general is every man's savior when it comes to Christmas shopping. I ordered everything on-line and had it delivered to my work. I've been done shopping and wrapping for over a week.

yeah i had to go to the mall saturday - the most depressed i've been in years. mall + xmas = :dead:

Who ever started the gift giving trend back in the 1800s is a fool.

it's fun to give stuff to little kids, other than that it's just a burden.

It's a beautiful thing when one doesn't have to set foot into a store - let alone the mall - anymore.

Only store I still go to is Lowe's and The Home Depot. Well, that and ABC Fine Wine and Liquors every now and then. :content:

that's how it should be, imo. but that doesn't really support the scope of american retail only a tiny little sector. so..presents for everyone it is.

Bout the same here. Home improvement stores, the liquor store and food shopping is about all I ever do anymore. I love food shopping, cause I love to cook. I'm like a kid in a candy store sometimes at the local grocery.

All i did this year gave gifts to the kids and my son.

I had some fun yesterday.

I have an outside steaming rig, that I use to make chinese dumplings. I contacted some buds at church, 2 weeks ago, told them we should make and cook 4000 dumplings for the christmas season, and give them away to the mens shelters downtown.

Yesterday, we all got together at my garden space, 7 of us, and

1. made the stuffing bits and

2. made the dumpling skins/dough from scratch and

3. steamed 4000 dumplings in 4 runs (my gear can handle 1000 at a time)

it was fun ! we didn't even drink beer !

I just returned from dropping em all off this morning - the staff and admins were very thankful for them - i passed out 800 to each shelter.

So - sometimes, Christmas isn't just about giving gifts, aye? I like to do reach-outs (no no, not reach-arounds)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
