FBI security check after IR1 Interview

Hello,

I have my interview at Montreal by the end of this month! As you can immagine im pulling my hair out thinking what else I can do to have things go smoothly. While reading the reviews for Montreal Conuslate I noticed one or two ppl were told at the interview that they would be going thru security checks.....and this could take from 6 months to an year. Does anyone know anything about why one would have to go thru these checks? I was under the impression that they would already have done this during this almost year long process...now I find that maybe not? Please shed some light on this.
