Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else from August is still waiting for their NOA2 from CSC. I haven't received an RFE or anything. I know it says normal processing is 5 months but i seem to be the only August filer still waiting for NOA2 from CSC. It will be 5 months next week , should I try to contact them at this time ?, should I maybe contact my State Congress or Senator ?

Any advice would be great

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Your Senator and Congressman won't likely be able to help until you hit 5 months from your NOA1 date. California is processing petitions absurdly fast, but that doesn't change the 5 month standard processing wait. It can't hurt to try, but the response from CSC will most likely be that you have not exceeded the 5 months. If you contact them once you hit your 5 months it may be a different story.

Not sure if they will tell you 6 months to file an inquiry, like we have to do at Texas Service Center. Doubtful as CSC is much faster. Don't forget that the population of VJ users is only a tiny percentage of petitioners. There's likely still many people waiting from August, just the ones from this site have already been approved. Each petition is different - randomly petitions can take the full 5 months or longer.

I appreciate your response but if you read my post I was asking if I should contact my Senator or Congressman at 5 months.I wasn't suggesting contacting them now. It is 5 months next WEEK.

Thanks for taking the time to advise. Do you think I would be better contacting Congressman or Senator ?

I say put yer calendar on hold starting 19 December, and pick it up again on 5 January.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I was thinking i would wait until January 6 before I call USCIS and then hope they can put in a service request at that time. Then I will wait a few weeks before i I contact a Congressman or Senator. Do you think I would have better luck contacting my States Senator directly in D.C. or contacting my local district Senator for the county I live in Madison, Wi ?

I did read your post, and I responded accordingly. If you read my post I reference you contacting them at 5 months, not next week. I gave both scenarios and at no point ignored your original post.

I contacted both Congressman and Senator and only heard back from my Senator so far.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear but next week will be 5 months, My NOA1 is August 2 , for some reason it reads August 6 and I can't change it. Did you contact your States senator in Washington D.C. or your local district senator located in your states capital building ?

Thanks again and Happy Holidays

You'll want to contact your congressman and senators in DC since USCIS is a federal agency, not a state agency.

That being said, the congressman for your district will have a local office that you can contact, rather than the DC office. Not sure if that will get you a quicker response or not. When my time comes, I'll probably send duplicate letters/ emails to every location possible.

so, it's 2 senators and 1 representative.

each of them have an immigration liason staffer human working in constituent services.

I suggest you call around, each and every office, and inquire:

1. name of human

2. email address of human

3. fax # of human

4. length of duration of time in service, ie - how many months or years this human has been serving as the Immigration Liason Staffer for that office?

then (if'n it were me) - try to choose the ILS human with the longest tenure in doing the ILS job.

Why? These folk know their job, all of the nuances, and have better contacts back with USCIS than someone who just started last season.

They were both federal in DC. The paperwork was sent to their local offices but they are my representatives from Congress and the House of Representatives on a federal level.
