It's their fault for allowing the situation to deteriorate due to their inaction. A cardboard post up holding a gun would have had the same effect.

It's pretty clear from the actions of the cry baby holding the phone that he wanted the cops to subdue him so he could get it recorded. Like most folks they were standing there wondering what the hell the guy was babbling on about. From what I could tell, he was only armed with a phone.

Yeah I didn't see it either. I'm pretty sure if the cops tell you to get on the ground, you're supposed to do that regardless. I'm also fairly sure you're not supposed to pull out your phone, start filming, and then start whining and crying about how you're scared in an obvious attempt to make yourself famous on YouTube.

I had a cop draw down on me a few times, usually for walking toward them uninvited. LAPD has no sense of humor.

I'm white and I've had cops pull guns on me numerous times. Guess what? I deserved it almost every time. The one time where I didn't deserve it they were just being safe because they thought I was someone else. Surprisingly I did what they told me, and all was good. I didn't pull out my phone, start filming, and turn in to a babbling cry baby.
