Hello,

Okay, back on December 5th both the I-129f (for K3 visa) and I-130 petitions (for CR1 visa) that I filed for my husband were approved at the same time. I know that on the NVC site that it says if both petitions are approved by USCIS at the same time that the K3 visa case will be closed.

However, I received a letter today saying that the approved I-129f petition was forwarded to the embassy. But, according to NVC, the I-130 petition was also received by NVC.

I am confused because based off the site the K3 visa case should be closed, but why am I receiving a letter stating that the petition was forwarded to the embassy.?

My husband and I have decided that the CR1 route is better for us financially, and I am starting to feel concerned after receiving this letter.

Thanks in advance for all help.

(By the way, I tried to call NVC about this, but the lines I guess are down because after being on hold for a few minutes, it automatically kicks me off the line.)

Both would always be forwarded to the NVC. The NVC is the one who closes the i-129 or not, not the USCIS. Occasionally a consulate or embassy will also close the K3 path if there is an approved I-130
