Checklist for Police Report

I sent in my IV Application in september and included a Spanish and German Police Certificate.

I got a checklist only for the Spanish one, but disregarded it (thinking it was false) while I submitted the checklist for one other item on the 864.

I just got a 2nd Checklist for the Spanish Police Certificate.

I called the NVC and they couldn't tell me if it was missing or incorrect. They are now going to have a supervisor look for it, but it will take 45 more days.

Two questions.

1) I had it translated, but no apostille. It says nothing about a Apostille, but thats the only thing I can imagine they have a problem with...and does ask for it, but only if you were in Spain Illegally (which my wife was not)

2) I have a 2nd police cert . Should I resend it while I wait for an answer over the next 45 days? Should I get an Apostille on it? (note the last sentence of the attachment)

I have Attached the Checklist and the Document that I submitted

Thank you for any advice you have,

William Respess

Hi, I had a somewhat similar experience with my husband's birth certificate. I sent it (two friends verified my package before I sent it), but I got a checklist anyway. I called to find out if they say it was missing altogether of if there was a problem with the one I sent. The rep said that the system says that it was missing altogether. I asked if there had been a problem with the one I sent if that would be noted in their system. The rep said yes, that would be noted, so I can only conclude that they lost it. I am re-sending. Not sure if this helps you, but just wanted to let you know there is someone else out there going through the same frustrating experience. :-)

Did you get an Apostille on your police cert? I'm thinking of sending the other in now, but want to be sure I dont need an Apsotille.

I sent a police certificate, but did not get a checklist for it, so I can assume that what I sent was sufficient. I had never heard of an Apostille until you mentioned it. I did not do that, but my husband is from Guinea, West Africa, so maybe that's the reason. I think the requirements for the documents depend on the country. I assume you have already looked at this website which, as far as I understand it, lists the requirements for documents by country. This is the link for Spain: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/SP.html

Thank you for the reply. It Is very confusing. It does state you need it , but appears to be only for if one was there illegally.

It's the very last sentence.

I called the NVC. My Documents are in order. Apparently it was either lost or overlooked. Resending today proactively while the supervisor looks for it.

Actually, I flipped it over and it was already on the back. So my question was irrelevant. I didn't ask for it, so I assume it comes with it.
