The purpose of a notary is to attest to the validity of a signature. If you think that by signing your W-2, paystub or tax return in the presence of a notary adds value to the document by somehow certifying it, ... then by all means do it.

I-134 form ONLY indicates to notarize the I-134 - don't make it more complicated than it needs to be

what about letter from employer?

edit: part of what you need depends on the consulate and your salary. i'm sure you can e-mail the consulate for specifics. i was told i don't have to bring a letter from my bank.

No but you could obtain an IRS stamp on your tax return if you wanted to but its not obligatory.

Are you sure you need a tax return? I didn't. It was not in the Packet 3 or Packet 4 instructions that I received. I gave them to Pao just in case they asked for them, but the never asked. The I-134 does not require tax returns unless you are self employed.
