So I want to check one more time with everyone to make sure I have everything in order for my I-129f fiance visa application. I went through the guides over and over but it doesn't hurt to have opinions here because of you who applied specifically through Morocco.

Here's what I have:

cover letter

completed i-129f with original signature

payment

copy of my birth certificate

4 g-325a's for me and 4 for my fiance both with 1 passport style photo

(although i am concerned about one address i had because i didn't know the number of the street i lived on. i just put "number not known." and explained i had no way to locate the info. do you think that is okay? i only lived there 5 months.)

two original letters of intent to marry from my fiance and i.

proof of having met the last two years:

photocopy of my passport showing my stamps to his country

one airline ticket and baggage tags with dates going to his country

a print out of an airline ticket i purchased to his country.

a bank statement showing that ticket purchase and purchases made in his country

another bank statement showing purchases in his country from another trip.

photos (about 8 varying from the first time we met, and the last, one with us and his family)

proof of an ongoing relationship:..... i know this isn't necessary but from what i hear, the moroccan embassy makes up their mind a lot of the time before they even have the interview with the beneficiary. so i was encouraged to put proof of our ongoing relationship in the initial application. is this true? should i even include MORE info?

my phone bills showing how many hundreds of dollars i spend calling him!

copies of a few of our MSN chats

a few emails selected one per month since we met.

i guess that's it. did i forget anything? any more advice? i also planned to take the advice from the guides and two hole punch the top and bind them with fasteners. do most of you do this?

thanks for your help!!:D

Send a copy of his Birth certificate, I got an RFE for that.

If you were not born in the US, then you need to show proof of citizenship (naturalization cert) I got an RFE for that too.

i think i'm going to risk not sending his birth certificate in. many people i've talked to didn't and didn't get an RFE. i hope i'm one of them. *crosses fingers

If you wanted to get one from him, how long would it take? I didn't send the original, only a copy that he scanned and emailed to me. I would say that the RFE I got added about 5 weeks of downtime for me. So if its something you can get relatively quick, then I wouldn't risk it.

i just talked to another girl who says i do not need to include it and she was approved recently. weird they give RFE's sometimes.

I know it is weird. I triple checked my app before sending it and didn't see anything that said I needed to send his BC. I guess it all comes down to the person who is working on your case. I was shocked when I got the RFE, but ofcourse at that time there wasn't much I could do. Whatever you decide to do, good luck!

I would take their advice and send everything possible in the beginning to make the process as smoothe as possible. It only takes a few minutes to scan and email a copy of a birth certificate so I would have him do that if possible. Why risk delaying the process 5 weeks or more if you can nip it in the bud from the start. I have said from the beginning of our process, it is better to send extra information than to not send enough. Good luck !!!

I couldn't agree more! I'm not the only one that got that RFE either. There was a thread about it, a saw a few people got it. Waiting one week could save you 5!!!

The birth certificate isn't required, but it sure can't hurt to include a copy of it. Since this is Casa we're talking about, you never know what they're going to ask for.

Also, provide as much evidence of relationship you can up front with the initial petition...I know VJ and others say not to overload, but this is Casa.

If you can get letters from your family and possibly his attesting to your relationship and saying that they look forward to seeing him in person...this would be a HUGE plus to include with the petition, as well as possible emails between him and your family...showing family involvement in your relationship. If you don't have this, don't fret. It certainly is not a requirement and most people don't send this in. If you don't have them now, it is a good idea to do this while you wait for NOA2, and the interview date...you can have your family and his write the consulate before the interview (just be sure to include your case number). I just submitted our CR1 along with letters from my Mother, My Sister, My Sister's Husband, My Grandfather, and friends who know us both. The consulate will be receiving letters from family before the interview as well.

If you can provide more emails, it would be good to at least include 1 per week rather than 1 per month.

If you have photos of you and his family together, include some of those as well...not just photos taken together, but photos of you doing things together, etc.

If you have between you letters, cards, ecards, provide copies of them as well.

While providing more evidence, do keep in mind the officer at the USCIS who will be adjudicating your case...make it easy for them to adjudicate by organizing everything well, and not provide too much for them to go through while providing a good amount of evidence.

Our CR1 petition includes the following 'additional' evidence outside of the requirements:

  • Letters from Family (both his and mine) and Friends
  • Wedding Attendee List (names, relation to us, address)
  • Marriage Announcement along with a list of the recipients who were not able to attend our wedding.
  • Copy of all phone bills
  • Emails, letters, ecards, postcards we have sent each other
  • Emails between him and my family
  • Copy of his ITIN request and our 2006 joint taxes
  • Selected Photos from all 3 trips to Morocco (including wedding and honeymoon photos...we even took pictures at the Adoul's office of us signing our marriage contract)
  • DVD Video from 2nd and 3rd trips to Morocco (including wedding)
  • Selected Moneygram receipts
  • Copies of all plane tickets and full copy of all pages from my passport
  • Selected printscreen of chat logs...provided 2 per week
  • Selected wav files of messages he has left on my answering machine

Good luck to you, I am sure you will be fine!
