We have called them today

they haven't got our case yet

we called USCIS and they told us they sent our case more than 25 days ago, is it so hard to give us a number and send the case to US embassy in Ankara?

it's not fair at all, it's not fair at all, it's not fair at all

it's been for 29 f***** days today, almost everyone from the same batch got his case sending to the proper embassy, is it because I'm Syrian?

no country in the world wants to receive the Syrians.

it drives us crazy, no answers, just f**** waiting.

Oh, Yamen. I'm so sorry you're going through this. USCIS sent the case to NVC 25 days ago and you still haven't heard anything? Is there any chance it got lost? Maybe try calling the NVC tonight and see if someone there can get you some answers. Hoping you hear some good news soon!!

genr87 - also, when you check your visa application status on CEAC's website, does it still say "in transit" or "ready"? Mine still says "in transit" but I'm assuming it takes a few days for it to be changed?

it's funny, we used to call them 3 times a day and every time we ended up with the same answer ((wait for 35 days)) then we can send an email for them to inquire about the case and again we have to wait for them to respond

basically it takes 5 minutes to be done with the whole issue but we have to wait for couple of months before we get something

that is so awful :(

I saw on another thread, a couple is going through something similar (they got their NOA2 in September and still haven't heard from NVC) and their NOA2 expires in a few weeks. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/525926-no-contact-from-nvc-after-noa2-receipt-three-months-ago/

Might be able to get some advice on how to handle your case once it's out of the processing time...

TheAndies- I checked Ceac and it still says In Transit. I assume that once the embassy processes our case and contacts us then it will say Ready. Hopefully it will happen tomorrow. I'm tired of waiting.

Hi Renata,

I today have this message please tell me what it means

Case Was Sent To The Department of State‏

On December 23, 2014, we sent your case, to the Department of State for visa processing.

Hii!!

It means they just sent your case to NVC (National Visa Center), which is part of Department of State. At NVC they will review your case and assign a new case number. In average it takes 1 to 2 weeks until they put your case in their system, assign a number and finally send the package to the US Embassy in your country. Are you from Brazil as well, right? So it means your case number will start with RDJ (Rio de Janeiro, the only Embassy in Brazil that processes the K1).

Once you have this number (You can get the number calling NVC and providing them the USCIS case number, beneficiary and petitioner names and DOB), you can move on and fill your DS-160, track at CEAC and e-mail the Embassy to make sure they received your case and if additionally they scheduled your interview. Looks like NVC is taking a little while now (Probably due to the Holidays) and you should call maybe in 2 weeks to ask if they received, case number and if it was sent to the Embassy and when. Just keep in mind it's a pain in the #$# to call NVC, line is often busy and they can put on hold up to 60 minutes, but eventually you get to talk to somebody!

Things move a little bit faster now. Today I e-mailed the Embassy here in Rio and they said my case is not there yet even though I tracked on DHL and it was delivered on the 23rd and CEAC status was updated today. But no big deal since it got there on the 23rd and they probably even didn't touch anything due to the holidays (They just got back to work today).

Good luck! :)

Our packet was sent off on the 17th and NVC doesn't have any record of it. I better brace myself for a long wait!!

Go to DHL website: http://www.dhl-usa.com/en.html

Select EXPRESS > TRACK BY SHIPPERS REFERENCE

If you know exactly when it was sent probably your reference number states 1 day before they picked your package or maybe the same day depending on the situation (Monday for instance), if they sent today, your reference number should be probably EXP 29 DEC 2014A and then you select the country where your interview will be held and the date range for shipment. You will see everything NVC is sending to your country. I always like to mention that there is not guaranteed that your case is inside the package they are sending. If there is a way to be 100% sure I would say that only calling NVC is the way to know so (I didn't call and just made an assumption that what they were sending to Rio was my case based on the shipment day)!!!
