How's everyone doing? I've kinda been overthinking a bit and wondering about a few things. One thing is that I sent the I-134 and all the supporting docs with it. But I only sent one copy. Should I have sent two? I think one gets mailed in but does he also need to take one with him for the interview or will they have the one that he will mail in? And the visa fee. Do I pay it in advance or does he pay at the consulate? I'd like to help him out and have it paid for him but I don't know if the embassy is wanting it paid at the interview. Still waiting for NVC to receive our case and give the case number. Hope this all works out soon so I can get a decent night sleep.

How do you know again when it's been sent to the NVC after approval?

You will receive an email and/or text message saying your case has been sent to the Dept of State. If you have the alerts activated on your account on USCIS website. You can also just go to check your status at USCIS website and when you plug in your receipt number it will say, your case has been shipped to department of state.

It can take a week to have it shipped. We were approved Dec 16th and Dec 23rd it was shipped to NVC. Two weeks later we got the case number.

I will find a job within a month. I don't have any family member in USA. I am only one who live in US. I have a friend who can co- sponsor if I ask to him. how about a friend? Can he co-sponsor ?

Oh no. So sorry to hear. Although I am not quite familiar with the procedure, I have read posts on here where people have co-sponsors. Can you ask your family or relatives to co-sponsor for you perhaps?

Sure, I will keep you updated as I have more info. Hopefully soon.

Happy Tuesday everyone. I hope all are doing well. So now this is where I'm at. I just got the case number and invoice number for my package (fiancé is in dominican rep). What do I do next? Do I start having her do the ds 160 now? Or do I wait till it gets to the consulate?

In not leaving anything to chance I filled out the 134 and 864 forms for affadacit of support and printouts of all my financials (well above the poverty 125%)

Also typed up letters for intent to marry for the two of us. I heard they may ask for that.

Next week I'm printing up our emails , western unions, etc. for our proof. I also have pics.

I have the original birth certificate for her here and she just got a new national ID card today.

I'll have her get a new police report like two weeks before the interview

Her passport has like 2 years left on it.

Man I'm really bugging out. Just need to know what's next. Please. Desperately needing some advice. You guys all rock!!!

Check your regional forum for DR embassy procedures on scheduling medical and interview (we are able to schedule our own but some people have to wait for the embassy to do it). See if the US embassy in DR requires you to send them anything before the interview. She needs passport sized photos which she will bring to the medical, and to the interview, find out how many you need. I think my fiance said he needs 4 for medical and 2 for interview, I am not sure if that varies by country.

I-134: you said you printed all your financial, did you include letter from employer for you, recent paystubs, and tax returns for the past 3 years? (2012, 2013, 2014)

Police report: don't wait too close to the interview, I am not sure how long it takes in DR, in some places it is a longer procedures than others.

DS 160- again check with the local embassy rules, we were told to do this last, but it might be different for you if your embassy assigns you the interview date. It's safe to say that you can wait to do this at least until on the ceac website your case says "Ready" that means you are ready to do the medical and the interview and they have received your papers.

Folks, please add if I missed something.

And, GOOD LUCK!!!! :)
