Cheers, Dohan. I just had a look at a few timelines for the Philippines. Wow--some took less than 5 weeks between NVC and interview. Some took over 8. I filtered for CSC only. If TSC, it's clearly an entirely different ballgame, as in much slower.

I'll spend more time on the Phil forum as you suggested, too. Hope all goes well for you, Dohan.

Just an FYI and for anyone currently waiting for the case number. I just now received a letter in the mail from NVC providing the case number and informing that it will be sent to the embassy. Letter is dated January 8th. So don't wait for the letter, just call, call, call after one week of being told your case is at NVC. Had I waited this whole time my fiance would only now be scheduling his medical.

There has been a flurry of negative stories coming out of Indian cases so we decided we will do the interview when I am there, even though Mumbai doesn't allow me to actually be at the interivew. This is getting even more nervewracking than the wait.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

I considered asking my fiance to come and assist me at the interview but it seams like even having your fiance by your side you still can be denied. I will trust GOD!!!!Believe me or not few more months of waiting I will go totally gray :)

Dohan, although no one knows, I'd say you're making the correct call going there for the interview. Another poster suggested, if the Petitioner isn't allowed into the interview room, one could at least have the Beneficiary bring his/her physical passport to show the Petitioner is physically present outside.

How can they say "you're relationship isn't real," if you're standing outside?!

I wish I could be there when my fiancé has her interview, but it just isn't in the cards for us right now. Plus she can be a naturally shy and reserved person. If any other members have suggestions as to how to "prove" our relationship to these people, pls relate those here. Thanks

Oh I didn't even think of that, good idea on the passport. Because he won't have his cell phone with him so he wouldnt be able to call me at the moment of the interview. We will also have photos of us together while I am there.

I know one of the key things they want to see is that you will be getting married within 90 days, so anything related to wedding planning might also be helpful.

I'll give him a copy of the receipt for my wedding dress(will block out the price so it doesn't stress him out haha!), our contract with the wedding officiant, and emails with venues discussing options.

They want to see two things, genuine relationship AND that you are planning to get married.

I wish I could just let my faith guide me too, I just tend to get so nervous and overthink everything.

People have really been denied even as they are standing right next to each other? WOW You know just for this someone who has gone through this process should become a CO. These people just have no idea, they have been trained to think the worst of anyone coming to US.

Let us not speak of gray hairs haha I counted more than I care to admit!

emcia's post is the first I've heard of that here on VJ. NOT saying he/she is wrong, and that it hasn't happened before, just relating what I have, and have not, seen here.

We don't know. We had a problem with doctor delivering our medical to the embassy on time. And we just checked CEAC it said reused. Read letter given at interview. He was given the VAWA pamphlet and told that they would contact him when the medical arrived. It arrived yesterday and our status changed to refused. Two years of trying to get married. Gone down the drain. . . Why did this happen to us? We just keep crying. The humiliation of having to cancel all of our plans, telling everyone he was coming. . . I can't stop seeing the words refused over and over. I can't stop crying. . .

Im sorry Alicia for the news but just know that God is able to do anything follow up with your case and meet with your fiancee just to feel a little bit better.

Congratulations Ko Zaw,

For me, mine was approved on Oct 29th. NVC processed my paperwork on Nov 20th. By Nov 24th, US Embassy in Yangon had already typed up their instructional sheet (found out that later on). I e-mailed them on Dec 3rd inquiring about my paperwork and they replied within a few hours saying my fiancee can pick them up.

My suggestion for you is after two weeks from now, start checking status of your case by going to the website below. Your case number starts with RNG******. Make sure you select "IMMIGRANT VISA (IV)". Once it shows "READY", e-mail US Embassy. They will let you know when to pickup.

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

She will need to do the following....

1) Fill out DS-160 online and print out confirmation page.

2) Fill out DS-157, DS-158, and Additional Page. They will provide her with the forms.

3) Need 2 passport size photos.

4) Original birth certificate, original notarized translation, and copy of each documents.

5) Original marriage/divorce/death from previous marriage (if any).

6) Original police certificate in Burmese and original notarized translation certificate.

7) Affidavit of Support I-134, which includes your W2, 1040, bank balance dating 1 yr, current employment letter. Also get letters from your bank. Ask them for verification letter.

8) Any court records (if any).

Drop them off at the embassy guard shack once she has put together. If they are satisfy with your documents, they will call your fiancee in two days and ask her to go for her medical exam. They will ask her to choose from International SOS or Parami hospital. Medical costs about approximately 170 USD. You can also pay in Kyats. Oh, and also be sure to have three more passport size photos to take them with her for medical.

Later on she will also need 265 USD for visa fees. She doesn't need it right away. I think she would have to pay when she goes for her interview. I will update you once I find out myself. Good luck!!

Hope this helps!

Approved today !!!! :dancing: :joy: what is next?????

nsh, sounds like, based on your detailed timeline, you had a rough go of it with USCIS initially, but then NVC acted very quickly on their end. It's very thoughtful of you to help other Petitioners along their journey as you go through yours.

Thank you. I try to do my best to help out any of the VJ members on here.

Yes, you are right. Mine took longer than other CSC Aug 2014 filers at USCIS for no reason at all. NVC and the embassy came to my rescue. I was pleasently surprised that the embassy has been very nice to me.

I don't know how far you are into your journey, but let me know if you need anything. I will try and answer as much as I know.

very cool, nsh. cheers

I might just take you up on that! But full disclosure: on the Philippine side we have Hank who is super-helpful. I actually stumbled onto this thread through another word search here on VJ--I usually try to find answers already existing within threads if I can ;)

Yeah I came across some posts about being denied while doing my research here. Last week one Polish girl went to the embassy with his fiance (5 years together) and they were being put in AP. They need more proof of his domicile in the US.

This process is just nerve-racking ordeal for me. I can't sleep peacefully now. I have nightmares!!! One more month and I will know my fate :)

AP is not a denial, and this particular couple needed more evidence of domicile, is this a case of where the petitioner has recently relocated back to USA? Or he is not in USA at all?

Guys can we please stop telling scary stories of people getting denied and focus on the positive? We are here to help, not tell scary stories around the campfire.

Hi,

She didn't mean that the AP represents a denial. She is talking about two different subjects. Yeah, we need to focus on the positive but also discussing about the latest information here (Which includes denials, AP and etc) to avoid every possible reason to get stuck in AP or even denial is also valid. I know we're all excited/stressed/scared at this point but in MY opinion we need to bring in here any kind of valid info to be prepared as much as we can.
