I sent in the Egyptian one which is slightly bigger and peope on another thread said it wasn't a problem for them. I'll let ya know. Meanwhile why don't you just scan the one you have and print it out? Why have him take another when you already have it to scan? That's what I'm doing for the I129F since he only gave me one photo and I already used it in the I130. The scan came out "picture perfect".

ah ha. now i need to figure out my scanner AND how to print it 2x2. when i try to resize things it won't let me customize it. i can do 2x1.5 ugh

maybe i'll take the photo to a camera store and ask them to do it if i can't figure it out tonight.

thanks :D

We used these moroccan photos for the original petition and had no problems at all.

you used photos that were slightly smaller than yours?

Yes, the passport photos in Morocco are slightly smaller than ours....must be the exact same thing you have. I sent those in even though they didnt meet the 2x2 requirements and the USCIS had no problems with our petition. No RFEs or anything.

Can you use the same one for both the I129F and the I130? It says somewhere that the photo has to be recent within 30 days. I used two different ones. Of course I can be really ####### sometimes.

omg your avatars are so funny!!!

I didn't catch the whole 30 days old thing but to be honest there's no date on the picture so I don't know how they would be able to tell.

on a totally random sidenote, my kids turn 10 and 11 the week before we go to Disney and I am going to say my youngest is 9 so that I can get the kid-price admission ticket. I was thinking......how the heck would they know?

now back to our regularly scheduled programming. lol

This happened to us, the size was just a wee bit smaller than the requirement...I had him scan it and send it to me via email. Then copied it on my usb flash drive and took it to Walgreens and they printed it out there 2x2 and it looks just fine, no pixelation or anything. I even told them exactly what it was for...no problem.

You will be fine...get it scanned and take it to Walgreens, they'll do it for $7.99.

I had no problem with Moroccan passport photos - sent them the way I got them!!! NO REF for that or anything else! They are actually about the size I'm used to from Russia. So, I didn't worry too much, as long as the height is right. I know what you're talking about, the widht is a little smaller, but it was fine.

I also used the same photos for 129 and 130 and they got approved.

The only way they would know is that if you file the petitions more than 30 days apart. That's the only thing I can think of. Not sure if they'd notice but I wasn't taking any chances. Both photos of Moh had the month and year on it. They were cut with those fancy scissors and the month and year was imprinted on the bottom. I asked him to send me one photo and I got like 6 of them (each photo). I carry one of each in my wallet :luv:

Just wanted to open this discussion again because I thought I correct passport photos UNTIL I realized they were 1) not "official size" (this bothers me less after reading this thread) and 2) my fiancee's head is turned just *slightly* to the right (which does bother me). All indications say that I need "official" photos that are "full face, front view, eyes open" but she's looking slightly to the right, which cuts off her left ear a tiny bit. And she's not really smiling but she doesn't have a completely natural expression either.

How big of a problem is this?

Every consulate is different. Casa had ot problems with the smaller photos. You might try asking in the europe forum for people who have gone through GErmany before you. Good luck.

Since this was bumped up anyway, i will add this which might help people in the future. The Moroccans differentiate between passport photos and visa photos. Their passport photos are slightly smaller than ours, but if you ask for visa photos (for an americna visa) they can make those 5cmX5cm ones too.
