Has anyone had or heard of anyone who experienced an administrative processing result for k-1 visa interview where the reason given was that they need more time to review the case? Nothing was asked to be brought, no additional evidence, just checked A/P and given a new interview date about two months later. Any idea of what this may mean?

Happens all the time. Sometimes the CO that interview needs to check with the Supervisor to help render a decision. Sometimes they need to check out somethings. There may have been some describencies in evidence submitted. If previous applications were submitted they have to be verified and checked. They may not were able to verify everything before interview time. Some things come up just before interview or during questioning. You would be surprised what the CO can get out.

During AP if they need anything they will notify the Beneficiary to bring in.

how are they able to verify everything before the interview time if they still didnt interview the beneficiary yet?

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

Oh sweet Lord I am a noodle head is this before an interview. Okay well all I said still applies (but the asking questions, and approval from supervisor). But to be put in AP yes is odd yes. They are definitely investigating something that they feel will take some time. so all you can do is just show up at the appointed time

No, this is after the interview. She was asked to take a seat after the questioning, then called up about 30 minutes later and told that they need more time to work on this case and to come back for a second interview. She asked what she should bring and they stated just the interview letter and passport and they kept most of everything submitted.

Okay I'm not a noodle head than. That's what AP is further investigation into your case. You are fortunate you are actually given a date to come back some never are. So just hold tight and just come back at the appointed time.

Thank you, I guess this settles me a little bit. I just don't understand, but maybe it's just that they wanted to verify more evidence submitted. We did not front load, so the evidence that was brought in was much greater than they had on hand. Maybe they wanted some time to go through everything. I sure hope anyways.

I filed for cr-1 visa. I kind of believed that they have some kind of suspicious about African countries. They will not approved your visa right away. They will collect all the documents summitted and they will microscop everything to see if there are something wrong. My wife went for the interviews on the 18 of November , they kept her passport asked for more document that she brought . They examined everything , she got approved today . Almost a month after the interview she was put on Ap for almost a month just to check all the evidence she brought with her that day . Trust me man. Things has changed it is not easy like the ways it used to. Almost everybody has to be on Ap before they approved your visa. Good luck on yours just be strong and keep believing .

When my wife went through the interview March 2013, there was little to zero talk of AP, I did not even know what it was, and I was a member of this site then also, but just do not remember this AP stuff, I guess they need more time for certain applications, maybe "IT" was there then, just did not notice it!

Glad we did not have to deal with it. We had something far worse, the ""SPUTUM FIASCO"" at St. Luke's in the Phils. (what a scam!)and it cost us almost 3 months delay in coming to USA on K-1. St. Luke's is so, so .,.,well I could say more, but will call it unethical, and that is a mild word for it!

It seems as if each country has its own nuance that can cause worry, delay, and unrest. In Jamaica, right now its DHL.

Happens a lot in African and ME countries. They are going over everything with a fine tooth comb. As Dwheels said you are lucky to have

been given a second interview date already.
