hello :)
so my fiancé is in the US army, we were not able to meet for a while because of his job and my family, i've also applied for a tourist visa but i said i'm visiting my boyfriend so it was denied. until recently, they gave him only 6 days to visit me and he did :) in october. . unfortunately the flights were long and we only spent 4 days together! we did not go places or take many pics , we have like 15 pics together and with the family .

we have everything ready and we're gonna send the packet the 18 th of december, but i'm really worried that it's not enough, the time he spent here and the pics. but it really wasn't up to us :/
has anyone before applied with a similar case ?

thank you

For the initial application you only have to prove that you met in person within past 2 years.

Later at interview you will have to provide more proof that the relationship is genuine but that doesn't just mean meeting in person, many people here provide logs of chats, facebook posts, phone bills, receipts for presents sent etc.

Plus they've refused your visa to see your boyfriend which in part explains the lack of meeting in person. Keep the documents relating to that, as this helps explain why you haven't met more, and shows that you did want to meet in person.

perfect that's all i needed to know, we're not the type to send presents letters or anything by mail really. we have chat logs, pics, phone bills, skype history, and he did buy me a ring.

he will visit me again if they allow him in july hopefully by the time i schedule an interview (if we get approved). it's just not up to us but to the army.

Just make sure to keep a running file of your communications with each other then when you get to interview you'll have it all ready to go :) The ring is handy too!

They can't penalise you for the fact that they wouldn't give you a tourist visa to visit - the fact that you applied is just further evidence to back you up.

So don't worry about it too much, and good luck!

Emma-joe,

I even included pictures of our rings. I also took pictures of us skyping/facetiming together. Hang in there. It's a lot of paperwork, so document everything and keep records of anything you think shows a connection between the two of you.
