HI! I am going to apply for a 5-week TESOL (English for teachers) program in San Diego (F-1 visa), but after the program completion I want to transfer to language courses for 4-5 months and then prolong again? Can I have difficultiees to prolong my student status due to slightly different nature of the programs? Can this short duration of the 1st program affect my transfer and prolongation decision? Could you please give me some tips :) I would be very grateful! Thank you for your time!

You may have issues extending your visa due to the short duration of the course. Your best option is to find and enroll in both courses so you can apply for a student visa for the entire duration, lest you end up our of status. Good luck!

Presumably you have checked you need a Student Visa for such a short course?
