Getting ready to file my wifes AOS next week. We have all the paperwork together and double checking everything.

There is a person from another site that sent theirs in two weeks ago with their 2005 tax returns. They just got an RFE asking for the most recent year tax returns. Guessing that means they are now wanting the 2006 returns? Even though its not April 15, 2007?

Was going to send ours in with the 2005 tax returns but now having second thoughts. Should we send it with the 2006 returns? Haven't done my 2006 taxes yet but I can to play it safe. Not sure how much of a delay it would be if we get an RFE for the 2006 returns.

Anyway I am new here. :)

I just sent my AOS last week and we used 2005 tax returns because my husband did not get all his W2's yet . My husband will file his income tax next week just in case we have RFE.

RFE depends on what documents they ask for and if you already have that documents you can send it as soon as you can and it reduce the delay. In some cases the documents that they ask is not RFE, it's RIE - Request of Initial Evidence and they got approve without interview. I hope this will help.

Ok that makes sense. Going to do the same file with the 2005 returns. Then if they ask for the 2006 we will have those ready to be mailed right away.

We filed the AOS in early February 2006. We included the 2004 tax transcript, and took the 2005 tax transcript with us to the interview. We did not get an RFE.
