POE Miami....Avoid if possible!!

I have had Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte and DC POE, definitely I like Charlotte the most, the airport is good and not that busy (Comparing to MIA or ATL).

My experience with ATL has been normal. The airport is big and it has very clear signs that tells you where to go, when and how to take the train. ....and a smoker's lounge!!! MIA is big and confusing and not enough customs officers working considering it is an international airport.

Wow im kind of surprised to read this. I was gonna book my fiancè for Miami POE over ATL. ATL immigration officers have always been rude but I've never had an issue at Miami. And the longest I've ever waited in line was 30 mins.... maybe because im not an immigrant lol...Im actually closer to Atlanta. Hmmmm. Something to think about

The rudeness of the officers, I guess it depends on the officer and the day, the people, time of arrival . I always traveled to NYC thru JFK several times, and I can mention only one time the custom/TSA officer at JFK was not nice, and I said it like that because I can't say he was rude either. When I traveled to SFO via MIA, the TSA officer stared at me like maybe I had something to hide, and hey, I was traveling with two passports stapled together, my 10 year valid visa with all my previous entries in the expired one, and the new passport for the new entries, not only it took me 2 hours in that long line, but the TSA/Custom took his time to check every freaking page of both my passports and he only asked me where, why I was going to SFO, and when was the last time I visited the US...then I missed my connecting flight.

Well ######, my PoE is MIA on Wed. Hope for the best.

Are you connecting? if you are, I hope your layover is not 2 hours, and your next gate is really close. Check the visajourney's reviews of MIA as POE, I think (and I can be wrong), people have to stay on the tourist line and then later taken to an office. What I like about ATL in my case as a K1, is that they have a line for our visas, so they do all the process right there unless there is something wrong. When I walked to the customs area, I asked about that line and with my VISA package on hand, the officer told me where was the line and I was the first one...I waited like 35 minutes because the boy in front of me with the TSA had an issue that took time to resolve, but nothing bad, and my process took like 15-20 minutes, and the TSA/Custom was actually fun to talk to. My layover was 3 hours and I had plenty of time to spare while waiting for my flight.

I hope everything goes well with you! lets us know what happens :)

I noticed one comment, that maybe not all P.O.E airports, has a K-1 visa only check in line, as Atlanta does, but as another said, the officers at Atlanta are extremely rude! And when I flew here with my wife, and went through POE, we almost missed our connecting flight.,.,.,due to agents "not really caring whether they process any applicants or not".,..,. it was almost laughable, they were so non-caring, and lackadaisical!

Yeah, Atlanta officers are rude!

I was with my 9 month old baby and they definitely did not care. They first sent me to a 'priority line' but then I ended up in the same K1/new immigration/parole line.

I didn't have any problem as such but I did not feel they were 'friendly' in any way.

I made my 2h connection with only about 10min to spare. But yeah, I was also caring a baby. Miami would probably have been worth I guess...

Yeah I've traveled thru both ATL and MIA mid day at its busiest and later in the evening. Still had better experience with immigration at MIA. Even though ATL is bigger it is marked very well and is hard to get lost but I've never been lost at either.
