hi everyone. I'm filling up the DS 160 and on the question about information of your Parents;

here's the thing my dad is in states for 13 years now he's out of status he went there as a tourist only. but he has no criminal records he also pay his taxes.

question should I put him the infos being him in states and his address?

would it cause my denial in my interview because of dad status?

pls help me im kinda lost of this situation. I'm the beneficiary.

Answer the question truthfully, lie and it certainly hurts your case.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

The Filipina consul when she did pre-screening my documents, she was surprised when she noticed my DS-160 that my mom is in the States and verified to me about her status and l said she is legal permanent resident. And she replied, oh okay. In your case surely the pre-screener Consul might also ask or verify about the status of your father in the States during your pre-screening. Just tell them the truth. Good luck!

Things to remember:

(1) Always tell the truth even if the truth is "I don't know".

(2) Look the CO in the eyes when answering.

(3) Be confident with your answer. Remember, you deserve this visa!

(4) Don't volunteer any information if not asked for. Give short and to the point answers. Don't get into story telling.

(5) Remember to smile as this is the first day of the rest of your life. If you don't get beyond this point with an approval your life will seem incomplete. You are in charge!

If they keep you passport there is a 99% chance your APPROVED. Good luck.
