I know many people want to obtain their K1 Manila case number as soon as possible after the NOA2 is issued. Here is my experience with calling the NVC about that, which was very positive. The NOA2 was issued by the TSC on November 12. On November 26, the case was sent to the NVC according to a USCIS status update. On December 12 at 7.30 pm I called the NVC at 1-603-334-0700. I dialed 1 for English. I was put on hold for about 90 minutes. Then an NVC representative answered. He was very polite and respectful and gave me the Manila Case number immediately when I asked for it, following some security questions such as the USCIS case number, my fiancee and my names, our birthdays. So make sure you have that information readily available when you call the NVC. Once he gave me the Manila case number I read the number back to him to confirm I wrote it down correctly, and he had no problem with me doing so. That way I knew I got it completely correct. He also answered a couple of other questions I had to clarify and finally he told me the case had already been forwarded to the US embassy in Manila and using the Manila case number I just obtained, my fiancee can go ahead and schedule the interview prior to receiving the letter from the US embassy. It was a VERY positive experience. Considering the circumstances, receiving the Manila case number, being on hold for 90 minutes while I was doing other things was clearly no big deal. So, I encourage anyone to call the NVC to obtain the case number a couple of weeks following the USCIS sent the case to the NVC.
