If she goes they will do everything except the urine specimen and the physical exam and make her come back once her period is over for those. You might as well reschedule the whole thing for next week since there is ZERO advantage to getting parts of it done this week and parts next week. They will not send anything to USEM until the whole exam is done.

So yes, do what Hank says and go there once the period is over. If doing that cuts it close in terms of getting it done in time for the interview, tell them that. They have accommodated ladies in the past who were forced to cut it close due to a period and got it all done for them on time.

Exactly. So if you have no other options, you can try to press your luck and hope it holds up.

I did read one case here of a lady who pushed her luck too far and went there on day 1 of her period. Not much bleeding yet, but enough for them to make her reschedule. The nurse took one look at the urnie sample, saw the blood contamination in it, and the rest was history.

Did her period start yet? Is she in Manila yet? Try going as soon as possible and maybe you can get it in under the wire.

Raining here in the St. Luke's area today now 1pm and forecasted more rain this afternoon. The street has a lot of water so could be difficult to get around Manila.

Her period already started? It is a pretty safe bet that if she goes Monday she won't finish because of the period.

Any chance her period will be done by Thursday? If she goes on Monday and they let her come back on Thursday for the urine and physical exam, there is a shot at getting the stuff over to USEM by Monday 12/22. People have done that before with success. Just be nice to them and explain the circumstances, and they should be willing to accommodate her. If they let her do that, go very early on Thursday (we are talking 4 AM) so she can get everything done that day including the shots.

Based on my medical experience, SLEC didn't collect my urine sample only extracted my blood sample. I would suggest better to postpone her medical, because during the physical exam you will be totally naked wearing only a laboratory/hospital gown. Good luck! :)

@ziggy1977 l read months ago here on VJ about having her period during her medical and they didn't allow her to undergo the medical procedure. Instead they advised her to come back after her red days. I've been looking for that post for you but l couldn't see anymore.

Speaking as a doctor where is why she should reschedule. As other people have said, you will not be physically examined (internal & speculum exam I'm assumung) because of the active bleeding. You will also not be allowed to take the urinalysis.

Medically speaking (I'm not an OB-Gyn BTW) if you have a urinalysis done while on your period or shortly thereafter, there will be blood in your urine. Now, the urinalysis should not have been done in the first place, but blood in your urine might cause you to be marked down for a UTI, or even worse, a kidney stone or some other renal disease that would necessitate further labs upto and including an ultrasound.

I know we are all in a hurry to get things done, but better to get it all done in one shot then have a sorts of messes crop up because you rushed.

Just my $0.02/P0.02.

No mixed answers. READ St. Luke's website. She can go during her menstrual cycle, but MOST LIKELY they will not be able to complete the full medical exam so she will have to return ONE WEEK after her last day of her cycle. You are gaining nothing by going during the menstrual cycle
