My husband has his green card and was approved his green card back in august after his 2 year visa finished. So my question is can a US resident potition for his mother to come to the us? I have heard from many people that this is possible if so what would he have to file and what would we need?

Timeline

Permanent Residents can only petition their spouses and unmarried children less than 21 years old. So he must wait until he becomes a citizen then petition his mother and brother. His mom is a direct relative so that may take about 1 year but for a sibling the wait time is 12-13 years.

He can apply for citizenship after 3 years of receiving his 1st green card. Once that is completed, he can put in the paper work for his family.

Yes his stepdad can submit a petition for his wife.
