Dear all wise experienced applicants:

I hope you have answer to my question.

I will be able to submit my N-400 next Feb (2015). After I submit my application and got my bio done, is it okay to leave the country for few months before coming back to interview?

I am a family based green card holder (married to a citizen).

Many thanks for your time and response.

You can travel, but make sure you don't miss your interview and make sure that your time abroad does not make you ineligible to naturalize (make sure you've spent enough time in the US).

You may get your interview any time after the third anniversary of your green card so if I were you I would make sure that I'm back before then. And make sure someone is checking your mail for you.

Also note that on rare occasions people have to redo their biometrics.

Also on rare occasions, some offices will schedule you for an interview before your 3 year anniversary (then they'll ly approve you after that date has passed).

In short, if you're leaving for a month you should be fine. If you're leaving for 2 or 3 you may be causing yourself an unnecessary headache.
