I look at the time lines for Vermonts I 130/ I 129.. and the days are so small.. every one says this is the quickest processing center!!!!!!!! AND NOW my own timeline says "There is not enough data in the timelines to accuratley approximate when your I-130 will be approved." what the FUDGSICLE does this mean???!!! and my I 129 timeline date just got pushed back to April.... what the #%$ !!!!!!!!!!!! I want to freak OUT! I know I just started this HELL RIDE in October.. but this is NUTs.. how can people deal with this? WHy can they just take as long as they want??!! I wanna just FREAK OUT..

Is there a MAXIMUM time they can take?? Can they really just take their sweet A$$ time??

Trust me--you're not the only one who feels like freaking out.

The timelines on VJ are here to give you an idea of when your application might be approved; they are based on other VJers experiences. The dates given for when your petitions may be adjudicated aren't official; they are only there to give you a rough estimate.

The official timeframes on the USCIS site are much worse, but generally not all that accurate for the average petition. Right now, they say they are working on petitions from July, but lots of people with much later dates have seen approvals. Unfortunately, calling USCIS doesn't do much good until you are officially 'overdue', which would be about six months after you apply.

I'm sure your I-130 will be approved soon. Your I-129F hasn't been there too long, but, since it is Vermont and not bloody California we're talking about, that will likely be approved in the next two weeks as well.

sorry... it was a moment of weakness.. I actually called and pestered the Nscs people today.. she said nothing was really gonna happen with my I130 visa.. and it turned into another type of visa??? Something with F? She also said that Vermont doesnt have a timeline posted for the I130?? she didnt know why... she said the I129 is the important one now to get him in the country.. and she said that could take another 5 months.. But atleast on that one I see movement *sigh*

They are tending to hold on to the I130's now and only processing the I129's but I thought that was after the I130 was approved. I asked this in another thread but I really wonder if they're just not even bothering to go through the approval process anymore for the I130's now due to this change. It wouldn't affect your I129 though and as someone else said it hasn't been that long for that one so just breath in and out and vent here.

They're still approving I-130 petitions, but they put a sort of hold on them if there is an approved I-129f. You'll get a notice that your I-130 has been approved, but it will state something to the effect that it assumes the applicant will be applying for adjustment of status in the US. You have to send in form I-824(I think) if you wish to continue the I-130/CR-1/IR-2 process, which takes longer than the K-3. The I-130 will be useful later when you apply to adjust status.

I think they're still trying to work out the kinks of the K-3 process. Hopefully, they'll soon do away with the need to file an I-130 before you petition for the K-3. It would make the K-3 more like the K-1 fiance visa and would be less hassle for both petitioners and the people who have to process all that d**m paperwork.

An now, an emotional outburst: CSC, get off your collected rumps and approve my frakin' petitions already!

I wanna say it was like Freedom.. or something like that.. It was a common word. And I noticed from another persons post that they approved and sent out the I 130 the exact same time as the I 129... So maybe that is happening.. Inshallah I'm getting alot of *touches* on the I129.. SOOO i am hopeing it will go out Soon.. I am flying to egypt in a few weeks... so I am running around trying to get all the paper work I will need for him.. If anyone has any suggestions/ reminders of EVERYTHING he will need Please let me know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm... thats a good question... I'll have to research what the options are .. but whatever gets him here quicker. When I talked to the USCIS people.. she said there wasnt really that much of a difference.. and they normally go out around them same time together and that applying for a work visa is normally the same with both... ?? So i guess the I 129 will be coming along soon?

IMBRA was a big part of the it taking so long. Early in 2006 they had old forms on their website for months while a new law was already enacted which required 3 new questions to be on the forms, so 10,000+ cases including ours sat on hold while they took their sweet time making new forms and sending us the additional 3 questions to answer. The law was passed in January, and enacted in March, but they didn't have new forms available until May which I find ridiculous. It is almost over though. Our I-129f was approved in late October(i think?) and our I-130 was approved last week. She had her K3 interview on February 1st, and now we are just waiting on a Police Certificate from the Netherlands.
