I believe the only cases that accept a spouse missing the AOS interview are the people stationed in military bases, and therefore have an official excuse to being absent.

You may be confusing the Removal of Conditions interview, to which you can attend alone if you are removing conditions with a divorce waiver. Anyway

I agree with Nike S, sounds like you will have to present yourself at the interview with ALL the evidence you have of your spouse not being able to attend, and pray that they will reschedule your interview date.

I went to the AOS by myself and my lawyer (it turned out the lawyer part was completely unnecessary) because my husband was on a 6 month training. Due to the nature of his training, his commander did not allow him to come back, however he did write an official statement to explain the situation. On the interview day, the immigration officer asked for that statement as a proof, and approved me within 10 minutes.

So if you decide to go in by yourself, definitely pack evidence stating the reason why your spouse cannot be there.
