It doesn't sound like you have a smooth marriage. It is really late to reschedule your appointment, no show will deem abandonment and you have to start from scratch. Sorry but your spouse is the key here.

I'd reschedule - most important here is to support your spouse as she is going through a difficult time .

03/25/15: NOA 1 emails/texts

04/13/15: biomnetrics appointment letter

06/10/15: Received email - EAD picked up by post office!

06/11/15: Received EAD

06/18/15: Received interview notice in the mail for July 20th 2015 (was send on 06/12/15)

Short of convincing your wife to fly in before your appointment tomorrow, the next best thing is to attend the interview alone and explain the family medical emergency that warranted your wife being out of town up till that very moment. Ask for a new appointment there and then, with a formal letter asking for the reschedule, have printed out documents of your wife's trip out of town if available - a copy of her train/ bus pass, plane ticket etc. If you have text messages stating her inability to make it on time (provided it doesn't paint the wrong picture of your marriage).

If your wife can write a letter tonight, sign and scan it to you so you can attach it then do so. If not then she can send an email stating her inability to make it.

Really it is a desperate move right now. So you have to give it your best shot. This is what I would do. I hope this helps.

Not really much else you can do. I guess you could go alone and explain the situation. See if they could reschedule then. If you go that route you should probally take some sort of documentation or proof of your situation.

It is a marriage-based application so your spouse must be there. The only exceptions I know of are spouses of military personnel who are stationed abroad or for some official reason cannot attend the interview. Hopefully someone who did the interview alone and was approved will contribute soon.

Sounds like cold feet to me. Whether her Mom is sick or not, she's known about this interview date for over a month. Arrangements should have been made to postpone the interview or for her to be there if she really wanted to be.

There is nothing you can do at this point, other than to reschedule your interview. Before you read too much into it, remember that your wife is probably having a hard time caring for her mother.

Good luck!
