My Fiance is going to call the Embassy tomorrow to try to get another Packet 3 out, since I had called the State Dept? in US and they said they had sent it out on the 10th of January. Does he only send back the first form to get the process rolling and then later send the checklist when he's got all the documents ready and that's when they set up the interview date? I thought that was what I was getting from posts, then saw another post somewhere saying you are to send it all together. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

By "State Department" do you mean NVC? They don't send out Packet 3. They send your petition to the US Embassy in whichever country your SO is from. Then after receiving it, they send you Packet 3. All of your other questions will be clear when you receive the packet. The directions are in there.

:)

I'm not quite sure what you are asking about. According to your timeline you are still at NVC (if not, you may want to update it). You said you are going to call London to ask for another Packet 3? Do you already have one? Then you said you called the State Department (?) and they had said they had sent it out. Sent what, your Packet 3? Is it possible it's still in transit then?

Relax and wait for the other packet 3 to turn up. All the instructions on which bits of paper to send first are clearly laid out in the instruction letter with packet 3. Hold tight, wait for it to turn up and all will become clear.

Good luck!

My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

A lot of people's first P3s go missing. I think it's totally fine for you to request another one. It doesn't matter if you send the forms back separately or together. If you don't have the checklist stuff ready, keep the list until you do and send the forms on ahead. If everything's ready to go together, send it together.

I called the State Department in Washington DC. I read in another posting that you can find out stuff from them and they are a lot more friendly than the Embassy. And I didn't really want to spend $16 on just one call lol That would be why my fiance is going to be doing the calling. The lady at the State Department had said they sent it out to him on the 10th, she was even telling me his address to make sure it was right. We just assumed it got lost seeing how it shouldn't take 20 days to get from London to his lil town in Scotland. Thanks for all the replies!
